　Mac OS X のアップデートもお忘れなく。

**Widget のインストール／アンインストール
　Widget ファイル（.wdgt）をダブルクリックすると、「ウィジェットインストーラ」でインストール可能。

　また、Mac OS X v10.4.2 からは、Dashboard に「ウィジェット（ウィジェット管理用 Widget）」が追加された。この Widget で道路標識のようなボタン (-) をクリックすると Widget をアンインストールできる。

***Mac OS X v10.4.1 以前の場合
　ホーム（あなたの名前のフォルダ）/ライブラリ に Widgets という名前のフォルダを作って、その中に追加したい Widget を入れてダブルクリックで起動する。
　Widgets フォルダの外に出すか捨てると、Widget Bar からも消える。

**Widget のお試しインストール
　ウィジェットインストーラで確認ダイアログが表示されているときに Command キーと Option キーを押すと「インストール」ボタンが「実行」ボタンに変化する。
　通常、ウィジェットインストーラでインストールすると Widget は自動的に ホーム/ライブラリ/Widgets に移動するが、この方法だと Widget は実行されるものの、移動は行われない。

**クローズ
　Widget Bar を開かなくても、閉じたい Widget にマウスポインタを乗せて Option キーを押すと「閉じる」（x）ボタンが出現する。

**リロード
　コマンドキー + R で選択中の Widget を再読み込みできる。

**Widget Bar
　コマンドキー + ^（US キーボードでは =）で Widget Bar の表示／非表示を切り替えできる。

**ゆっくり Dashboard
　Shift キーを押したまま F12 を押すと、画面切り替えのアニメーションがスローモーションになる。
　また、クリックするとアニメーションでサイズが変わる Widget（標準のカレンダー等）でも、Shift + クリックするとスローモーションになる。

**Widget をデスクトップに表示
　専用のソフトを使用する。[[Amnesty>http://www.mesadynamics.com/amnesty.htm]]、[[Dash Menu>http://www.giga.jp.org/sw/dashmenu/dashmenu.html]]など。

　または、表示したい Widget をドラッグしながら F12 を押すとデスクトップに持ってくることができる。ただし、この状態は再度 Dashboard を開くと解除されてしまう。
　そうならないようにするには、Dashboard の開発モード（Development Mode）を ON にすればよい。ターミナルを開いて
 defaults write com.apple.Dashboard devmode YES
としてから
 killall Dock
として Dock（と Dashboard）を再起動する。

**環境設定ファイル
調子の悪い時など、別の場所に退避して再起動を試してみよう。
***Widget の環境設定ファイル
 ホーム/ライブラリ/Preferences/widget-なんとか.かんとか.plist
そのほかにも、ライブラリフォルダ等に Widget が使うデータが保存されることがある。

***Dashboard の環境設定ファイル
実行中の Widget の位置情報、Widget Bar に登録されている Widget の概要など
 ホーム/ライブラリ/Preferences/com.apple.dashboard.plist
Dashboard の実行環境 WebKit の環境設定
 ホーム/ライブラリ/Preferences/com.apple.dashboard.client.plist

*純正 Widgets
**再インストール
　14 種類の OS X 付属 Widget は、インストール DVD のここに入っているので、展開して取り出す。 
/Volumes/Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Installation/Packages/AdditionalEssentials.pkg/Contents/Archive.pax.gz 
　言語リソースはそれぞれ別の場所にある。日本語なら 
/Volumes/Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Installation/Packages/Japanese.pkg/Contents/Archive.pax.gz

**Weather（天気予報）
　都市名を入力したあと、Return キーもしくは Tab キーを押して確定する必要がある。
　command + option + クリックで天気のサンプル表示を見ることができる。

**翻訳
　設定ファイル絡みのバグでうまく動かないことがある模様。言語選択メニューが「undefined」などとなる。

　対処法：翻訳 widget の設定ファイル（/ユーザ/[ユーザ名]/ライブラリ/Preferences/widget-com.apple.widget.translation.plist ）を一度削除してから起動する。

**Dashboard SDK
　Tiger リリース前に [[Apple Developer Connection>http://developer.apple.com/]] で配布されていた「Dashboard SDK」は現在はダウンロードできない。しかし、関連情報は随時追加されているので、Widget 作者はチェックしておこう。

**Widget サンプルコード

　また、Developer Tool をインストールすると、いくつかのサンプルを /Developer/Examples/Dashboard/ で使うことができる。

**Jolla - Utility Plug-In for Dashboard
