【上演】『桜の園』1920年（イギリス・ロンドン・聖マーチン劇場）

1911年の失敗以降、ロンドン2度目となった『桜の園』
劇場はSt. Martin's Theater
1920年7月11,12日(演出:Vera Donnet)
この公演に先駆け、1919年6月『かもめ』、1920年3月『三人姉妹』を公演している。
公演は成功に終わり、ウエストエンドまで遠征公演がなされた。

第1次大戦が終わり、イギリスのチェーホフに対する理解は変化した。
チェーホフの世界に対する眼差しが、優れたものだとロンドンの観客達も気がつき始めたためである。
