[これ]イエス・キリストの默示[なり]
即ち、かならず速かに起るべき事を、その僕どもに顯させんとて、神の彼に與へしものなるを、彼その使を僕ヨハネに遣して示し給へるなり。
（口語）イエス・キリストの黙示。この黙示は、神が、すぐにも起るべきことをその僕たちに示すためキリストに与え、そして、キリストが、御使をつかわして、僕ヨハネに伝えられたものである。
（英訳）The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
2節
ヨハネは神の言とイエス・キリストの證とに就きて、その見しところを悉とく證せり。
（口語）ヨハネは、神の言とイエス・キリストのあかしと、すなわち、自分が見たすべてのことをあかしした。
（英訳）who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
3節
此の預言の言を讀む者と之を聽きて其の中に録されたることを守る者どもとは幸福なり、時近ければなり。
（口語）この預言の言葉を朗読する者と、これを聞いて、その中に書かれていることを守る者たちとは、さいわいである。時が近づいているからである。
（英訳）Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
4節
ヨハネ[書を]アジヤに在る七つの教會に[贈る]。願はくは今在し、昔在し、後來りたまふ者および其の御座の前にある七つの靈、

また忠實なる證人、死人の中より最先に生れ給ひしもの、地の諸王の君なるイエス・キリストより賜ふ恩惠と平安と汝らに在らんことを。願はくは我らを愛し、その血をもて我らを罪より解放ち、

（英訳）and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
6節
われらを其の父なる神のために國「民」となし祭司となし給へる者に世々限りなく榮光と權力とあらんことを、アァメン。
（口語）わたしたちを、その父なる神のために、御国の民とし、祭司として下さったかたに、世々限りなく栄光と権力とがあるように、アァメン。
（英訳）and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
7節
視よ、彼は雲の中にありて來りたまふ、諸衆の目、殊に彼を刺したる者これを見ん、かつ地上の諸族みな彼の故に歎かん、然り、アァメン。
（口語）見よ、彼は、雲に乗ってこられる。すべての人の目、ことに、彼を刺しとおした者たちは、彼を仰ぎ見るであろう。また地上の諸族はみな、彼のゆえに胸を打って嘆くであろう。しかり、アァメン。
（英訳）Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
8節
今いまし、昔いまし、後きたり給ふ主なる全能の神いひ給ふ『我はアルパなり、オメガなり』
（口語）今いまし、昔いまし、やがてきたるべき者、全能者にして主なる神が仰せになる、「わたしはアルパであり、オメガである」。
（英訳）"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
9節
汝らの兄弟にして汝らと共にイエスの艱難と國と忍耐とに與る我ヨハネ、神の言とイエスの證との爲にパトモスといふ島に在りき。
（口語）あなたがたの兄弟であり、共にイエスの苦難と御国と忍耐とにあずかっている、わたしヨハネは、神の言とイエスのあかしとのゆえに、パトモスという島にいた。
（英訳）I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
10節
われ主日に御靈に感じゐたるに、我が後にラッパのごとき大なる聲を聞けり。
（口語）ところが、わたしは、主の日に御霊に感じた。そして、わたしのうしろの方で、ラッパのような大きな声がするのを聞いた。
（英訳）On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,
11節
曰く『なんぢの見る所のことを書に録して、エペソ、スミルナ、ペルガモ、テアテラ、サルデス、ヒラデルヒヤ、ラオデキヤに在る七つの教會に贈れ』
（口語）その声はこう言った、「あなたが見ていることを書きものにして、それをエペソ、スミルナ、ペルガモ、テアテラ、サルデス、ヒラデルヒヤ、ラオデキヤにある七つの教会に送りなさい」。
（英訳）which said: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea."
12節
われ振反りて我に語る聲を見んとし、振反り見れば七つの金の燈臺あり。
（口語）そこでわたしは、わたしに呼びかけたその声を見ようとしてふりむいた。ふりむくと、七つの金の燭台が目についた。
（英訳）I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,

また燈臺の間に人の子のごとき者ありて足まで垂るる衣を著き、胸に金の帶を束ね、
（口語）それらの燭台の間に、足までたれた上着を着、胸に金の帯をしめている人の子のような者がいた。
（英訳）and among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man," dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.
14節
その頭と頭髮とは白き毛のごとく雪のごとく白く、その目は焔のごとく、
（口語）そのかしらと髪の毛とは、雪のように白い羊毛に似て真白であり、目は燃える炎のようであった。
（英訳）His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.
15節
その足は爐にて燒きたる輝ける眞鍮のごとく、その聲は衆の水の聲のごとし。
（口語）その足は、炉で精錬されて光り輝くしんちゅうのようであり、声は大水のとどろきのようであった。
（英訳）His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.
16節
その右の手に七つの星を持ち、その口より兩刃の利き劍いで、その顏は烈しく照る日のごとし。
（口語）その右手に七つの星を持ち、口からは、鋭いもろ刃のつるぎがつき出ており、顔は、強く照り輝く太陽のようであった。
（英訳）In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
17節
我これを見しとき其の足下に倒れて死にたる者の如くなれり。彼その右の手を我に按きて言ひたまふ『懼るな、我は最先なり、最後なり、
（口語）わたしは彼を見たとき、その足もとに倒れて死人のようになった。すると、彼は右手をわたしの上において言った、「恐れるな。わたしは初めであり、終りであり、
（英訳）When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.
18節
活ける者なり、われ曾て死にたりしが、視よ、世々限りなく生く。また死と陰府との鍵を有てり。
（口語）また、生きている者である。わたしは死んだことはあるが、見よ、世々限りなく生きている者である。そして、死と黄泉とのかぎを持っている。
（英訳）I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
19節
されば汝が見しことと今あることと、後に成らんとする事とを録せ、
（口語）そこで、あなたの見たこと、現在のこと、今後起ろうとすることを、書きとめなさい。
（英訳）"Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.
20節
即ち汝が見しところの我が右の手にある七つの星と七つの金の燈臺との奧義なり。七つの星は七つの教會の使にして、七つの燈臺は七つの教會なり。
（口語）あなたがわたしの右手に見た七つの星と、七つの金の燭台との奥義は、こうである。すなわち、七つの星は七つの教会の御使であり、七つの燭台は七つの教会である。
（英訳）The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
第2章
1節
エペソに在る教會の使に書きおくれ。「右の手に七つの星を持つ者、七つの金の燈臺の間に歩むもの斯く言ふ、
（口語）エペソにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『右の手に七つの星を持つ者、七つの金の燭台の間を歩く者が、次のように言われる。
（英訳）"To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands:
2節
われ汝の行爲と勞と忍耐とを知る。また汝が惡しき者を忍び得ざることと、自ら使徒と稱へて使徒にあらぬ者どもを試みて、その虚僞(者)なるを見あらはししこととを知る。
（口語）わたしは、あなたのわざと労苦と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたが、悪い者たちをゆるしておくことができず、使徒と自称してはいるが、その実、使徒でない者たちをためしてみて、にせ者であると見抜いたことも、知っている。
（英訳）I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.
3節
なんぢは忍耐を保ち、我が名のために忍びて倦まざりき。
（口語）あなたは忍耐をし続け、わたしの名のために忍びとおして、弱り果てることがなかった。
（英訳）You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.
4節
然れど我なんぢに責むべき所あり、なんぢは初の愛を離れたり。
（口語）しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことがある。あなたは初めの愛から離れてしまった。
（英訳）Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love.
5節
然れば、なんぢ何處より墜ちしかを思へ、悔改めて初の行爲をなせ、然らずして若し悔改めずば、我なんぢに到り、汝の燈臺を、その處より取除かん。
（口語）そこで、あなたはどこから落ちたかを思い起し、悔い改めて初めのわざを行いなさい。もし、そうしないで悔い改めなければ、わたしはあなたのところにきて、あなたの燭台をその場所から取りのけよう。
（英訳）Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
6節
然れど汝に取るべき所あり、汝はニコライ宗の行爲を憎む、我も之を憎むなり。
（口語）しかし、こういうことはある、あなたはニコライ宗の人々のわざを憎んでおり、わたしもそれを憎んでいる。
（英訳）But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7節
耳ある者は御靈の諸教會に言ひ給ふことを聽くべし、勝を得る者には、われ神のパラダイスに在る生命の樹の實を食ふことを許さん」
（口語）耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者には、神のパラダイスにあるいのちの木の実を食べることをゆるそう』。
（英訳）He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
8節
スミルナに在る教會の使に書きおくれ。「最先にして最後なる者、死人となりて復生きし者、かく言いふ、
（口語）スミルナにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『初めであり、終りである者、死んだことはあるが生き返った者が、次のように言われる。
（英訳）"To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again.
9節
われ汝の艱難と貧窮とを知る――されど汝は富める者なり。我はまた自らユダヤ人と稱へてユダヤ人にあらず、サタンの會に屬く者より汝が譏を受くるを知る。
（口語）わたしは、あなたの苦難や、貧しさを知っている（しかし実際は、あなたは富んでいるのだ）。また、ユダヤ人と自称してはいるが、その実ユダヤ人でなくてサタンの会堂に属する者たちにそしられていることも、わたしは知っている。
（英訳）I know your afflictions and your poverty--yet you are rich! I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
10節
なんぢ受けんとする苦難を懼るな、視よ、惡魔なんぢらを試みんとて、汝らの中の或者を獄に入れんとす。汝ら十日のあひだ患難を受けん、なんぢ死に至るまで忠實なれ、然らば我なんぢに生命の冠冕を與へん。
（口語）あなたの受けようとする苦しみを恐れてはならない。見よ、悪魔が、あなたがたのうちのある者をためすために、獄に入れようとしている。あなたがたは十日の間、苦難にあうであろう。死に至るまで忠実であれ。そうすれば、いのちの冠を与えよう。
（英訳）Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.
11節
耳ある者は御靈の諸教會に言ひ給ふことを聽くべし。勝を得るものは第二の死に害はるることなし」
（口語）耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者は、第二の死によって滅ぼされることはない』。
（英訳）He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.
12節
ペルガモに在る教會の使に書きおくれ。「兩刃の利き劍を持つもの斯く言ふ、
（口語）ペルガモにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『鋭いもろ刃のつるぎを持っているかたが、次のように言われる。
（英訳）"To the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword.
13節
われ汝なんぢの住むところを知る、彼處にはサタンの座位あり、汝わが名を保ち、わが忠實なる證人アンテパスが汝等のうち即ちサタンの住む所にて殺されし時も、なほ我を信ずる信仰を棄てざりき。
（口語）わたしはあなたの住んでいる所を知っている。そこにはサタンの座がある。あなたは、わたしの名を堅く持ちつづけ、わたしの忠実な証人アンテパスがサタンの住んでいるあなたがたの所で殺された時でさえ、わたしに対する信仰を捨てなかった。
（英訳）I know where you live--where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city--where Satan lives.
14節
然れど我なんぢに責むべき一二の事あり、汝の中にバラムの教を保つ者どもあり、バラムはバラクに教へ、彼をしてイスラエルの子孫の前に躓物を置かしめ、偶像に献げし物を食はせ、かつ淫行をなさしめたり。
（口語）しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことが、少しばかりある。あなたがたの中には、現にバラムの教を奉じている者がある。バラムは、バラクに教え込み、イスラエルの子らの前に、つまずきになるものを置かせて、偶像にささげたものを食べさせ、また不品行をさせたのである。
（英訳）Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating food sacrificed to idols and by committing sexual immorality.
15節
斯くのごとく汝らの中にもニコライ宗の教を保つ者あり。
（口語）同じように、あなたがたの中には、ニコライ宗の教を奉じている者もいる。
（英訳）Likewise you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
16節
さらば悔改めよ、然らずば我すみやかに汝に到り、わが口の劍にて彼らと戰はん。
（口語）だから、悔い改めなさい。そうしないと、わたしはすぐにあなたのところに行き、わたしの口のつるぎをもって彼らと戦おう。
（英訳）Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17節
耳ある者は御靈の諸教會に言ひ給ふことを聽くべし、勝を得る者には我かくれたるマナを與へん、また受くる者の外、たれも知らざる新しき名を録したる白き石を與へん」
（口語）耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に言うことを聞くがよい。勝利を得る者には、隠されているマナを与えよう。また、白い石を与えよう。この石の上には、これを受ける者のほかだれも知らない新しい名が書いてある』。
（英訳）He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.
18節
テアテラに在る教會の使に書きおくれ。「目は焔のごとく、足は輝ける眞鍮の如くなる神の子、かく言ふ、
（口語）テアテラにある教会の御使に、こう書きおくりなさい。『燃える炎のような目と光り輝くしんちゅうのような足とを持った神の子が、次のように言われる。
（英訳）"To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze.
19節
われ汝の行爲および汝の愛と信仰と職と忍耐とを知る、又なんぢの初の行爲よりは後の行爲の多きことを知る。
（口語）わたしは、あなたのわざと、あなたの愛と信仰と奉仕と忍耐とを知っている。また、あなたの後のわざが、初めのよりもまさっていることを知っている。
（英訳）I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.
20節
されど我なんぢに責むべき所あり、汝はかの自ら預言者と稱へて我が僕を教へ惑し、淫行をなさしめ、偶像に献げし物ものを食はしむる女イゼベルを容れおけり。
（口語）しかし、あなたに対して責むべきことがある。あなたは、あのイゼベルという女を、そのなすがままにさせている。この女は女預言者と自称し、わたしの僕たちを教え、惑わして、不品行をさせ、偶像にささげたものを食べさせている。
（英訳）Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.
21節
我かれに悔改むる機を與ふれど、その淫行を悔改むることを欲せず。
（口語）わたしは、この女に悔い改めるおりを与えたが、悔い改めてその不品行をやめようとはしない。
（英訳）I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling.
22節
視よ、我かれを牀に投げ入れん、又かれと共に姦淫を行ふ者も、その行爲を悔改めずば、大なる患難に投げ入れん。
（口語）見よ、わたしはこの女を病の床に投げ入れる。この女と姦淫する者をも、悔い改めて彼女のわざから離れなければ、大きな患難の中に投げ入れる。
（英訳）So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways.
23節
又かれの子供を打ち殺さん、斯てもろもろの教會は、わが人の腎と心とを究むる者なるを知るべし、我は汝等おのおのの行爲に隨ひて報いん。
（口語）また、この女の子供たちをも打ち殺そう。こうしてすべての教会は、わたしが人の心の奥底までも探り知る者であることを悟るであろう。そしてわたしは、あなたがたひとりびとりのわざに応じて報いよう。
（英訳）I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.
24節
我この他のテアテラの人にして未だかの教を受けず、(かれらの)所謂サタンの深きところを知らぬ汝らに斯くいふ、我ほかの重きを汝らに負せじ。
（口語）また、テアテラにいるほかの人たちで、まだあの女の教を受けておらず、サタンの、いわゆる「深み」を知らないあなたがたに言う。わたしは別にほかの重荷を、あなたがたに負わせることはしない。
（英訳）Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan's so-called deep secrets (I will not impose any other burden on you):
25節
ただ汝等はその有つところを我が到らん時まで保て。
（口語）ただ、わたしが来る時まで、自分の持っているものを堅く保っていなさい。
（英訳）Only hold on to what you have until I come.
26節
勝を得て終に至るまで我が命ぜしことを守る者には、諸國の民を治むる權威を與へん。
（口語）勝利を得る者、わたしのわざを最後まで持ち続ける者には、諸国民を支配する権威を授ける。
（英訳）To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations--
27節
彼は鐵の杖をもて之を治め、土の器を碎くが如くならん、我が父より我が受けたる權威のごとし。
（口語）彼は鉄のつえをもって、ちょうど土の器を砕くように、彼らを治めるであろう。それは、わたし自身が父から権威を受けて治めるのと同様である。
（英訳）`He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery' -- just as I have received authority from my Father.
28節
我また彼に曙の明星を與へん。

第6章
1節
羔羊その七つの封印の一つを解き給ひし時、われ見しに、四つの活物の一つが雷霆のごとき聲して『來れ』と言ふを聞けり。
（口語）小羊がその七つの封印の一つを解いた時、わたしが見ていると、四つの生き物の一つが、雷のような声で「きたれ」と呼ぶのを聞いた。
（英訳）I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come!"
2節
また見しに、視よ、白き馬あり、之に乘るもの弓を持ち、かつ冠冕を與へられ、勝ちて復勝たんとて出でゆけり。
（口語）そして見ていると、見よ、白い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、弓を手に持っており、また冠を与えられて、勝利の上にもなお勝利を得ようとして出かけた。
（英訳）I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
3節
第二の封印を解き給ひたれば、第二の活物の『來れ』と言ふを聞けり。
（口語）小羊が第二の封印を解いた時、第二の生き物が「きたれ」と言うのを、わたしは聞いた。
（英訳）When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!"
4節
斯て赤き馬いで來り、これに乘るもの地より平和を奪ひ取ることと人をして互に殺さしむる事とを許され、また大なる劍を與へられたり。
（口語）すると今度は、赤い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、人々が互に殺し合うようになるために、地上から平和を奪い取ることを許され、また、大きなつるぎを与えられた。
（英訳）Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.
5節
第三の封印を解き給ひたれば、第三の活物の『來れ』と言いふを聞けり。われ見しに、視よ、黒き馬あり、之に乘るもの手に權衝を持てり。
（口語）また、第三の封印を解いた時、第三の生き物が「きたれ」と言うのを、わたしは聞いた。そこで見ていると、見よ、黒い馬が出てきた。そして、それに乗っている者は、はかりを手に持っていた。
（英訳）When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.
6節
斯て、われ四つの活物の間より出づるごとき聲を聞けり。曰く『小麥五合は一デナリ、大麥一升五合は一デナリなり、油と葡萄酒とを害ふな』
（口語）すると、わたしは四つの生き物の間から出て来ると思われる声が、こう言うのを聞いた、「小麦一ますは一デナリ。大麦三ますも一デナリ。オリブ油とぶどう酒とを、そこなうな」。

われ見しに、視よ、青ざめたる馬あり、之に乘る者の名を死といひ、陰府これに隨ふ、かれらは地の四分の一を支配し、劍と饑饉と死と地の獸とをもて人を殺すことを許されたり。

（英訳）I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

第五の封印を解き給ひたれば、曾つて神の言のため、又その立てし證のために殺されし者ものの靈魂の祭壇の下に在るを見たり。
（口語）小羊が第五の封印を解いた時、神の言のゆえに、また、そのあかしを立てたために、殺された人々の霊魂が、祭壇の下にいるのを、わたしは見た。
（英訳）When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
10節
彼ら大聲に呼はりて言ふ『聖にして眞なる主よ、何時まで審かずして地に住む者に我らの血の復讐をなし給はぬか』
（口語）彼らは大声で叫んで言った、「聖なる、まことなる主よ。いつまであなたは、さばくことをなさらず、また地に住む者に対して、わたしたちの血の報復をなさらないのですか」。
（英訳）They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?"
11節
爰におのおの白き衣を與へられ、かつ己等のごとく殺されんとする同じ僕たる者と兄弟との數の滿つるまで、なほ暫く安んじて待つべきを言聞けられたり。
（口語）すると、彼らのひとりびとりに白い衣が与えられ、それから、「彼らと同じく殺されようとする僕仲間や兄弟たちの数が満ちるまで、もうしばらくの間、休んでいるように」と言い渡された。
（英訳）Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

（英訳）The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

地の王たち・大臣・將校・富める者・強き者・奴隷・自主の人みな洞と山の巖間とに匿れ、
（口語）地の王たち、高官、千卒長、富める者、勇者、奴隷、自由人らはみな、ほら穴や山の岩かげに、身をかくした。
（英訳）Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.

山と巖とに對ひて言ふ『請ふ我らの上に墜ちて御座に坐したまふ者の御顏より、羔羊の怒より、我らを隱せ。

第12章

また天に大なる徴見えたり。日を著たる女ありて其の足の下に月あり、其の頭に十二の星の冠冕あり。

（英訳）A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.

かれは孕りをりしが、[子を]産まんとして産の苦痛と惱とのために叫べり。
（口語）この女は子を宿しており、産みの苦しみと悩みとのために、泣き叫んでいた。
（英訳）She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.
3節
また天に他の徴見えたり。視よ、大なる赤き龍あり、これに七つの頭と十の角とありて、頭には七つの冠冕あり。
（口語）また、もう一つのしるしが天に現れた。見よ、大きな、赤い龍がいた。それに七つの頭と十の角とがあり、その頭に七つの冠をかぶっていた。
（英訳）Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads.

その尾は天の星の三分の一を引きて之を地に落せり。龍は子を産まんとする女の前に立ち、産むを待ちて其の子を食ひ盡さんと構へたり。
（口語）その尾は天の星の三分の一を掃き寄せ、それらを地に投げ落した。龍は子を産もうとしている女の前に立ち、生れたなら、その子を食い尽そうとかまえていた。
（英訳）His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born.

女は男子を産めり、この子は鐵の杖もて諸種の國人を治めん。かれは神の許に、その御座の下に擧げられたり。
（口語）女は男の子を産んだが、彼は鉄のつえをもってすべての国民を治めるべき者である。この子は、神のみもとに、その御座のところに、引き上げられた。
（英訳）She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.

女は荒野に逃げゆけり、彼處に千二百六十日の間かれが養はるる爲に神の備へ給へる所あり。
（口語）女は荒野へ逃げて行った。そこには、彼女が千二百六十日のあいだ養われるように、神の用意された場所があった。
（英訳）The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
7節
斯て天に戰爭おこれり、ミカエル及およびその使たち龍とたたかふ。龍もその使たちも之と戰ひしが、
（口語）さて、天では戦いが起った。ミカエルとその御使たちとが、龍と戦ったのである。龍もその使たちも応戦したが、
（英訳）And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.

勝つこと能はず、天には、はや其の居る所なかりき。

（英訳）But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.
9節
かの大なる龍、すなわち惡魔と呼ばれ、サタンと呼ばれたる、全世界をまどはす古き蛇は落され、地に落され、その使たちも共に落されたり。
（口語）この巨大な龍、すなわち、悪魔とか、サタンとか呼ばれ、全世界を惑わす年を経たへびは、地に投げ落され、その使たちも、もろともに投げ落された。
（英訳）The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
10節
我また天に大なる聲ありて、『われらの神の救と能力と國と神のキリストの權威とは、今すでに來れり。(これ)我らの兄弟を訴へ夜晝われらの神の前に訴ふるもの落された(ればな)り。

（英訳）Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.

而して兄弟たちは羔羊の血と己が證の言とによりて(彼に)勝ち、死に至るまで己が生命を惜まざりき。
（口語）兄弟たちは、小羊の血と彼らのあかしの言葉とによって、彼にうち勝ち、死に至るまでもそのいのちを惜しまなかった。
（英訳）They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
12節
この故に天および天に住める者よ、よろこべ、地と海とは禍害なるかな、惡魔おのが時の暫時なるを知り大なる憤恚を懐きて汝等のもとに下りたればなり』と云ふを聞きけり。
（口語）それゆえに、天とその中に住む者たちよ、大いに喜べ。しかし、地と海よ、おまえたちはわざわいである。悪魔が、自分の時が短いのを知り、激しい怒りをもって、おまえたちのところに下ってきたからである」。
（英訳）Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."
13節
斯て龍はおのが地に落されしを見て男子を生みし女を責めたりしが、
（口語）龍は、自分が地上に投げ落されたと知ると、男子を産んだ女を追いかけた。
（英訳）When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
14節
女は荒野なる己が處に飛ぶために大なる鷲の兩の翼を與へられたれば、其處にいたり、一年、二年、また半年のあひだ蛇のまへを離れて養はれたり。
（口語）しかし、女は自分の場所である荒野に飛んで行くために、大きなわしの二つの翼を与えられた。そしてそこでへびからのがれて、一年、二年、また、半年の間、養われることになっていた。
（英訳）The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent's reach.
15節
蛇はその口より水を川のごとく、女の背後に吐きて之を流さんとしたれど、
（口語）へびは女の後に水を川のように、口から吐き出して、女をおし流そうとした。
（英訳）Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent.
16節
地は女を助け、その口を開きて龍の口より吐きたる川を呑み盡せり。
（口語）しかし、地は女を助けた。すなわち、地はその口を開いて、龍が口から吐き出した川を飲みほした。
（英訳）But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
17節
龍は女を怒りてその裔の殘れるもの、即ち神の誡命を守り、イエスの證を有てる者に戰鬪を挑まんとて出でゆき、
（口語）龍は、女に対して怒りを発し、女の残りの子ら、すなわち、神の戒めを守り、イエスのあかしを持っている者たちに対して、戦いをいどむために、出て行った。
（英訳）Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring――those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

海邊の砂の上に立てり。
（口語）そして、海の砂の上に立った。
第13章
1節
我また一つの獸の海より上るを見たり。之に十の角と七つの頭とあり、その角に十の冠冕あり、頭の上には神を瀆す名あり。
（口語）わたしはまた、一匹の獣が海から上って来るのを見た。それには角が十本、頭が七つあり、それらの角には十の冠があって、頭には神を汚す名がついていた
（英訳）And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.
2節
わが見し獸は豹に似にて、その足は熊のごとく、その口は獅子の口のごとし。龍は、これに己が能力と己が座位と大なる權威とを與へたり。
（口語）わたしの見たこの獣はひょうに似ており、その足はくまの足のようで、その口はししの口のようであった。龍は自分の力と位と大いなる権威とを、この獣に与えた。
（英訳）The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.
3節
我その頭の一つ傷つけられて死ぬばかりなるを見しが、その死ぬべき傷いやされたれば、全地の者これを怪しみて獸に從へり。
（口語）その頭の一つが、死ぬほどの傷を受けたが、その致命的な傷もなおってしまった。そこで、全地の人々は驚きおそれて、その獣に従い、
（英訳）One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.
4節
また龍おのが權威を獸に與へしによりて彼ら龍を拜し、且その獸を拜して言ふ『たれか此の獸に等しき者あらん、誰か之と戰ふことを得ん』
（口語）また、龍がその権威を獣に与えたので、人々は龍を拝み、さらに、その獣を拝んで言った、「だれが、この獣に匹敵し得ようか。だれが、これと戦うことができようか」。
（英訳）Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"
5節
獸また大言と涜言とを語る口を與へられ、四十二个月のあひだ働く權威を與へらる、
（口語）この獣には、また、大言を吐き汚しごとを語る口が与えられ、四十二か月のあいだ活動する権威が与えられた。
（英訳）The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months.
6節
彼は口をひらきて神を涜し、又その御名とその幕屋すなはち天に住む者どもとを瀆し、
（口語）そこで、彼は口を開いて神を汚し、神の御名と、その幕屋、すなわち、天に住む者たちとを汚した。
（英訳）He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.
7節
また聖徒に戰鬪を挑みて、之に勝つことを許され、且もろもろの族・民・國語・國を掌どる權威を與へらる。
（口語）そして彼は、聖徒に戦いをいどんでこれに勝つことを許され、さらに、すべての部族、民族、国語、国民を支配する権威を与えられた。
（英訳）He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.
8節
凡て地に住む者にて其の名を、屠られ給ひし羔羊の生命の書に、世の創より記されざる者は、これを拜せん。
（口語）地に住む者で、ほふられた小羊のいのちの書に、その名を世の初めからしるされていない者はみな、この獣を拝むであろう。
（英訳）All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast――all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.
9節
人もし耳あらば聽くべし。
（口語）耳のある者は、聞くがよい。
（英訳）He who has an ear, let him hear.
10節
虜にせらるべき者は虜にせられん、劍にて殺す者は、おのれも劍にて殺さるべし、聖徒たちの忍耐と信仰とは茲にあり。
（口語）とりこになるべき者は、とりこになっていく。つるぎで殺す者は、自らもつるぎで殺されねばならない。ここに、聖徒たちの忍耐と信仰とがある。
（英訳）If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.
11節
我また他の獸の地より上るを見たり。これに羔羊のごとき角二つありて龍のごとく語り、
（口語）わたしはまた、ほかの獣が地から上って来るのを見た。それには小羊のような角が二つあって、龍のように物を言った。
（英訳）Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.
12節
先の獸の凡ての權威を彼の前にて行ひ、地と地に住む者とをして死ぬべき傷の醫されたる先の獸を拜せしむ。
（口語）そして、先の獣の持つすべての権力をその前で働かせた。また、地と地に住む人々に、致命的な傷がいやされた先の獣を拝ませた。
（英訳）He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.
13節
また大なる徴をおこなひ、人々の前にて火を天より地に降らせ、
（口語）また、大いなるしるしを行って、人々の前で火を天から地に降らせることさえした。
（英訳）And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men.
14節
かの獸の前にて行ふことを許されし徴をもて地に住む者どもを惑し、劍にうたれてなほ生ける獸の像を造ることを地に住む者どもに命じたり。
（口語）さらに、先の獣の前で行うのを許されたしるしで、地に住む人々を惑わし、かつ、つるぎの傷を受けてもなお生きている先の獣の像を造ることを、地に住む人々に命じた。
（英訳）Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.
15節
而してその獸の像に息を與へて物言はしめ、且その獸の像を拜せぬ者をことごとく殺さしむる事を許され、
（口語）それから、その獣の像に息を吹き込んで、その獣の像が物を言うことさえできるようにし、また、その獣の像を拝まない者をみな殺させた。
（英訳）He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
16節
また凡ての人をして、大小・貧富・自主・奴隷の別なく、或はその右の手、あるいは其のその額に徽章を受けしむ。
（口語）また、小さき者にも、大いなる者にも、富める者にも、貧しき者にも、自由人にも、奴隷にも、すべての人々に、その右の手あるいは額に刻印を押させ、
（英訳）He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead,

この徽章を有たぬ凡ての者に賣買することを得ざらしめたり。その徽章は獸の名、もしくは其の名の數字なり。
（口語）この刻印のない者はみな、物を買うことも売ることもできないようにした。この刻印は、その獣の名、または、その名の数字のことである。
（英訳）so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18節
智慧は茲にあり、心ある者は獸の數字を算へよ。獸の數字は人の數字にして、その數字は六百六十六なり。
（口語）ここに、知恵が必要である。思慮のある者は、獣の数字を解くがよい。その数字とは、人間をさすものである。そして、その数字は六百六十六である。
（英訳）This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.
