厳密に言えば、大統領は毎日ゴルフをしていたわけではありません。しかし、もしゾンビによる終末に見舞われたとしても、少なくとも大統領が使い慣れた武器をすぐに使える状態だったのは確かです。ゴルフは大統領の典型的な娯楽であり、議会との交渉を避けるためにやっているのだと批判する人たちの意見にも一理あります。大統領がわざわざ議会と議論を交わしたいと思うでしょうか？しかし、現在進行中の終末の状況を考えると、大統領は議会と対話よりも悪いことを一つ見つけたと、正直に思うでしょう。もし議会がゾンビを倒して事態が正常に戻してくれるなら、大統領は最高のスイングができるはずです。

Being fair, the President isn’t hitting the links daily, but if a zombie apocalypse had to happen, at least it occurred when he had some familiar weapons readily available. Golfing is a classic presidential pastime, and critics who say that it’s primarily to avoid dealing with Congress have a very good point. Would *they* like to deal with that bunch? But, given the currently ongoing apocalypse, the President can now honestly say he’s found one thing worse than talking to Congress. If they can put down the zombies and things get back to normal, he’ll have one helluva swing.
