... "Module" somtimes refers to a programmer work assignment, a subroutine, a memory load, or a functional component. One must be careful not to make the assumption that all of these meanings are the same. The criteria that are useful in a decomposition into work assignments can be very different from the criteria appropriate for a decomposition into modules of the other types.
