I often speak of the cosmos...
The cosmos as I know it, though, is unthinkably more vast
than what you see when you look up at the stars.
Indeed, beyond the edges of your world exists an infinite
number of other universes that comprise the multiverse.
And that is what I have come to know as the cosmos -
an endless stack of worlds...turtles, all the way down!
You're wondering what this place is?
How do I put this in terms you can comprehend...
I suppose you could say that we are "between worlds."
By collecting and compressing infinitesimal tears in the
fabric of space-time from across the cosmos...
I can create a sort of interworld subspace that
has little to no effect on the world I occupy.
Hmm, did that go right over your head?
Think of it like this -
It is like taking the crumbs from a cookie jar
without ever opening it.
Perhaps that's oversimplifying it, but you get the picture.
No? You're even MORE confused now?
Just forget I ever said anything, then.
This is not the first time I've meddled in the
history of you Terrans, by the way.
In what you call the "Middle Ages," my techniques
gave rise to the term "magic."
You Terrans have come quite a long way since then,
what with your revolutions and enlightenments...

my powers defy explanation. They are, still, as magic.

miraculous, and magical being that I am!

As a matter of fact, I have been called many things.
An extradimensional being, an angel,
an alien, a time traveler...
None of those are correct, but they're
also not entirely wrong.
The truest among them, perhaps, has been "Code Holder."
This moniker is given to those who are in possession
of an esoteric symbol crudely called a "code."
These "codes" are strings woven into an extraordinary
world-shaping power called a "program."
The existence of these codes - which are conferred upon
people - thus presupposes the dissolution of this program.
How the program self-executes is entirely dependent on
how its individual parts interact with one another.
In some cases, executing these codes in a particular
sequence can lead to that world's termination.
In other words, codes are so powerful that
they can even end worlds.
All of this is to say, Code Holder carry
the keys to a world's fate.

If I were to sum up all the time I've spent dipping my toes into other
