Just for completeness: lithium coin battery != lithium ion rechargeable battery - it's neither 'ion' nor rechargeable.

The lithum hack is very simple: you solder a germanium diode (just about any type) in line with the coin battery in order to prevent recharging the (non-rechargeable) battery. The only thing to worry about is to point the striped (cathode) end of the diode away from the + contact of the battery (or towards the - contact) and you're set.

■dcload-ip（通信DISC）の作成■

  ・dcload-ipの下準備
     （ver 1.0.3 neroイメージを使用して説明します。他のイメージでも加工の仕方は変わりません。）

      1)ダウンロードしたdcload-ip-103-0.0.0.0-Nero5.zipを解凍。
      2)解凍したファイルdcload-ip-103-0.0.0.0-Nero5.nrgをバイナリエディタで開く。
        （ここではStirlingというソフトを使用して説明します。）
      3)写真1のボタン（検索）を押し、写真2の検索ウィンドウを開く。

      4)検索データ(F)の所に000.000.000と入力（数字の0です）
      5)データ種別(K)の所にある文字列にチェックマークを移す。
        （最終的に、写真2の状態になっていればOK）
      6)次検索(N)のボタンを押す。
      7)写真3の000．000．000を、192．168．001に書き換える。（写真3→写真4）

     8)先ほど書き換えた部分の数行下にある（目印はNO BROADBAND ADAPTERの文字列）
         写真5の000を、100に書き換える。（写真5→写真6）
         ここで書き換えた100という数字は、LANカードのIPアドレスと同じにならなければ
         いくつでもかまいません。（最大は255）

      9)ファイルを上書き保存して、バイナリエディタを終了させる。
      10）書き換えたdcload-ip-103-0.0.0.0-Nero5.nrgを、neroで焼く。
      
        ↑こんなエラーが2回出ますが、気にせずはい(Y)を選んで下さい。

      11)先ほど作成した通信DISCを、Dreamcastにセットて電源ON
          写真３の画面のようになれば、Discの作成は成功です。
