When I was a junior high-school student in about the mid 80's, Western pop music was popular.
For example, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Wham!, Bangles, Cyndi Lauper, etc.
I like their songs, but I couldn't watch or listen to them on TV. Of course, I didn't have CD player. I recorded them on a cassette tape from the radio.
After that, Karaoke became popular in Japan. I listened to Japanese rock and pop very much. I often went to Karaoke.
Recently, I like Hawaiian and Jazz. I bought a ukulele few years ago. But I don't practice very often, so I can't play it. At the end of last year, I watched a TV program about university students in New York who practiced playing Jazz music on the piano. I liked it, and I listen to Jazz on my iPod very much.
