[2] The shiitake mushrooms are a popular type of edible fungus cultivated and consumed in many Asian countries.
[3] In East Asian countries, it is a common tradition for parents to give children money ("yasuiqian" in Chinese and "otoshidama" in Japanese) on New Year's Day. This practice is said to suppress bad luck in the new year.
