Tokyo for Free
Imperial Palace East Garden
This is a garden adjoining the Imperial Palace and a museum. The garden of 210,000m2 first opened to the public in 1968. Here you can enjoy cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring, various rose in early summer and camellias in winter.
Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG)
Built in 1991, has an observatory on the 48th floor (243m high) which commands a panoramic view of metropolitan
Tokyo. A number of sculptures are exhibited outside around the buildings.
Museum of Future Science and Technology
You can learn about science and scientific experiments, and use the library and mini theatre.
Sumo Museum
It is the official museum of the Sumo association. It houses more than 20,000 historical and memorial items of Sumo Wrestling, such as paintings, books and photos etc.
Meguro Parasite logical Museum
This is the only museum in the world on parasites. It exhibits various specimens, studies and photos f parasites.
Ebisu Beer Museum
Once only the brand name of a beer in
Japan, Ebisu is now used as the town name because there was a beer factory here in the Meiji period, the predecessor of Sapporo Beer Compnay, currently one of the most popular beer brands in the country. Here you can learn about the history and technology of making beer. It also features a tasting lounge (with small charge).
Currency Museum
The museum was opened in 1985 by bank of Japan. It contains about 4,000 representative currency items and exhibits the history of Japanese yen.
NHK Broadcast Museum
This museum is owned by Japan Broadcast Corporation, featuring high-definition broadcast systems, earlier broadcast equipment, and experience studio, video showing room for older TV programs and a library.
Amlux
This is the showcase by Toyota Motor Corporation, featuring all range of vehicles as well as mini-theatre, products shop, test driving and technology exhibitions.
Honda Welcome Plaza
This is the showroom of Honda Corporation. Asimo, the world’s first bipedal humanoid robot, developed by Honda, will welcome you as a guide. You can enjoy exhbitions of new car models. Also featuring a mini-theatre and a product shop.
TEPCO Electric Energy Museum
You can learn about various ways of electricity is generated, the mechanism of electricity in daily lige through games, videos, interactive exhbitions and experiments etc.
Sony building / Sony Style
Exhibits new products, offering free-lending and trial, as well as free battery charging for Sony products.
Panasonic Center
It offers the game trial corner and broadband café lounge, as well as company’s new products.
