Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has been given a slab of the Berlin Wall honoring his world-record performances in Berlin. He won three gold medals at the World Athletics Championships, shattering two world records.
Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit on Sunday presented a 3.6-meter-tall piece of the historic wall to Bolt to celebrate his feat.
Bolt set world records in the men's 100 and 200 meters. He took a third gold when the Jamaican team won the men's 4x100 meter relay.
The piece of wall, weighing 2.7 tons, has been inscribed with a picture of Bolt running.
The gift will take three weeks to get to Jamaica by ship, traveling a distance of about 10,000 kilometers from Berlin.

陸上の世界選手権で３冠を達成し、２つの世界新記録を打ち立てたジャマイカの短距離走者ウサイン・ボルト選手に、ベルリン市から「記録の壁を破った」として「ベルリンの壁」の一部が贈られました。
ベルリンのクラウス・ボーベライト市長は日曜日に、ボルト選手の快挙を祝うために、高さ３.６メートルある歴史的な壁の一部を贈呈しました。
ボルト選手は男子１００メートルと２００メートルで世界新記録を打ち立て、さらに男子４００メートルリレーで優勝し、３つの金メダルを獲得しました。
この重さ２.７トンの壁の一片には、ボルト選手が走っている姿が描かれています。
この贈り物は、およそ１万キロ離れたジャマイカまで、船を使って３週間ほどかけて運ばれるということです。
