A sattelittle
A satellite(developed by a group) (of small companies) (in Osaka,
western Japan), has_succeeded_in taking a
picture of itself in orbit around the earth.
The latest photograph shows the satellite and the blue-colored earth in the
background. The image was received from the satellite on May 12th.
Logos of the companies and universities that developed the satellite are also
visible.
Maido Number 1 was launched in January and has been orbiting about 660
kilometers above the earth's surface. It has been observing lightning and
testing a sensor to determine the position of the sun.
A senior official of the development group says the satellite has completed all
of its planned experiments, including the photography.
The official says they are happy with the results.
