The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra has appointed on a trial basis, a Japanese violinist, Daishin Kashimoto, as its new concertmaster.　
30-year-old Kashimoto will lead the Berlin Philharmonic, one of the world's most prominent orchestras from this autumn. He is expected to sign a full contract afterward if approved by the orchestra members.
Kashimoto was born in London and enrolled at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York at the age of seven. When he was 17, he won first prize in the Long Thibaud International Competition, a renowned contest for young performers.
If officially appointed, Kashimoto will be the second consecutive Japanese concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic following Toru Yasunaga, who retired last March.

ベルリン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団の新しいコンサートマスターに、日本人バイオリニストの樫本大進さんが内定しました。
３０歳の樫本さんは今年の秋より、世界最高峰のオーケストラのひとつであるベルリン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団のトップを務める予定で、楽団員による投票で承認されれば、正式な契約を結ぶことになります。
樫本さんはロンドン生まれで、７歳でニューヨークの名門、ジュリアード音楽院に入学し、１７歳で、若手演奏家の登竜門、ロン・ティボー国際音楽コンクールで第１位を獲得しました。
樫本さんが正式に就任すると、今年３月に退団した安永徹さんから２代続いて、日本人がベルリン・フィルのコンサートマスターをつとめることになります。
