21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art opened 9th October, 2004. Since its open, the museum was visited by tourists from all over the world. On day 247 from the open, the museum has been visited by one million visitors.
This museum was designed by famous architect Sejima Kazuyo and Ryue Nishizawa, they have a lot of careers designing museums in Europe. Obviously a design of museum building is unique and it is worth to visit the museum to enjoy it.
The exhibition space is consists of free zone and pay zone. Even in free zone, you can enjoy a work of Leandro ERLICH (The Swimming Pool), James TURRELL (Blue Planet Sky) and Anish KAPOOR (The Origin of the World).
Kenrokuen Garden is just across the intersection. It may be a good contrast old with new.
