Dr. Johnson's is more than camphor menthol. What, i don't know. The camphor is quite hidden. It does have menthol in it, but there seems to be some other nice flavors in there as well.

"Dr Johnson" is a moist, light chocolate brown, fine-grained "medicated" snuff which tastes pretty much like a plain menthol to me. I'm not a menthol fan so I can't say how good a snuff it is in that department. They all strike me about the same, except I would say that if I were to choose between McCrystal's Original and Dr Johnson I'd go with McCrystal's because of a stronger initial menthol kick and richer tobacco undertone.

A menthol somewhat similar to McChrystal's Original and Genuine. I still prefer the McChrystal's, however. But it works in a pinch. Ha.

A somewhat fine grind made with camphor and menthol; sneezing is a somewhat regular occurrence. The smell of this blend is initially subjugated by the nicotine - Dean Swift appear to have infused this snuff with the most jingoistic nicotine this side of W.E. Garrett & Sons, as it takes over your nose with a tingling (non-snuffers who had it refer to it as a slight, if not pleasant, burning)... only to be subjugated by a light menthol smell later on.
