Camphor & Menthol provide the icy taste and flavor of this Wilson's "Blue" snuff while tobaccos: Zimbabwe Flue & Burley provide the nicotine.

The tin aroma of this snuff is a pleasant balance of menthol and camphor. The camphor is strong enough to compete with the menthol for your nose's attention and it provokes a pleasant anticipation before snuffing it. It is moderately fine grind, like the other Wilson's menthols and is light rust brown in color. Upon snuffing, the tin's promise of camphor is fulfilled, and the two strong flavors of camphor and menthol compete for your nose's attention. Believe it or not, this is quite a complicated snuff, the camphor aroma dominates, and the menthol does an excellent job playing a supporting role keeping the nose stimulated and attuned to the fine aroma of the camphor. I almost don't believe it myself, but there is a third note present here of good wholesome tobacco aroma! It definitely takes a back seat to the two stronger flavors, but certainly makes it's presence known. This reminds me of a fine ground, English style Gletscher Prise. If you enjoy menthol snuffs, you will enjoy this complex offering. Happy snuffing!

Maybe that's a good subject for a thread. Or at least something to add some of the reviews. "If you're caught short of O&G, this is the Wilson's you want to try". I'm told the same can be said for L260/SM500. (Tom Buck/Queen's, etc.) , As much as I'm enjoying working my way through the bewildering array of Wilson's menthols, (and McC's, and , well, everyone else's) this kind of information might help the "less traveled" snuffer. Also, when one's favorite vendor is all out of a favorite snuff, or when caught short when on holiday it might be helpful.

i find it too medicated in taste. also there is so much camphor that it makes my nose angry and it instantly blocks up. i have found it to be a good mixer. i also wish i could find and have tried 100 different concoctions to make a knock off mcog with no luck. the closest i have come was a blend of sharrow med blue with sm 500, with the menthol aspect watered down and the tobacco note of mc put in with a blend of snuff made with stonehaven pipe tobacco and rooster. anyway, sm blue is a very nice snuff for the camphor lover and would be higher on my list if i was less sensitive to it. if anyone finds a close snuff to mcog PLEASE let me know!!! i can not live without it but at 158.00 a pound here in the US, the price is killing me. with a family and two kids it is much more adult of me too use the wonderful sharrow snuffs at 36.00 a pound or what i am doing now since i am aquiring a HUGE love affair and addiction too f&t's bordeaux and morlaix which are not bad at all at 80.00 a pound. i actually disliked morlaix at first but i was out of the other one day a month or so ago and was using morlaix instead, POOF, it just got me exspcecially this time of year with cool air and falling leaves... it just has that horsebarn pumpkin pie thing going on that i am now in love with. my wife keeps telling me i smell like a baby, appearntly to her the after smell is sort of foo-foo or that of baby powder and she finds my use of it weird to say the least exspcecially knowing my personally and me being of big burley tough mountian man type whom would cringe at the idea of using or putting anything other then a match on my tobacco, the first time she noticed it, i had to go get the tin because she did not believe this aroma was coming from me, LOL.....
