大阪府、吹田市の仏教寺院
The problem with Japanese Buddhist studies is the lack of information on contemporary Buddhist practices. While there is plenty of documentation of of Buddhist doctrines, art, and history there is not much written about how modern Japanese Buddhism is practiced. The purpose of my survey is to take the city of Suita in Osaka prefecture and make a catalog of every temple and its practices.
By surveying every single temple in Suita City, I can create a control sample for future religious studies research. I believe that Suita City is a good sample, it is in a historical part of Japan, being located outside of Osaka (a former imperial capital and important trade and merchant city from then on), but is far enough away from the big cities that the practices here would be more genuine and reflecting personal belief and not the politics that arise when in proximity to seats of aristocratic or military power.
日本の仏教の研究の問題は、現在の仏教の活動の情報は少ないで在る。仏教について教え、とか美術とか、歴史はよく記録されているのに、 近代の仏教の活動はあまり記録されていません。私の目標は：大阪府の吹田市を調査して、全部のお寺とこういうお寺の活動を目録に記録つもりで在る。
