沖ノ鳥交通事業は護海寺駅を起点に沖ノ鳥島北西方向に延びる鉄道会社である。

地図上での路線表記はJRの色違い（青色）となっている通り、建設時にはJRが関わっていたが最終的に別会社として切り離された。

There is a great temple of Jodoshinshu(a religion part of Japanese buddism)called Gokaiji.
護海寺と呼ばれる浄土真宗（日本の仏教の一派）の由緒ある神社があります。
In front of the station many stores such as Yodobashi Camera and McDonald's are available.
