What's the point of this wiki?
I'm a bored American and stumbled upon this game and it's kinda cool, but because I'm not fluent in moonspeak I thought it might be a good idea to set up a wiki where I could take down notes.
Where's all the info coming from?
Most will be copied wholesale from the
LoV Wiki and translated since they have everything in one convenient place for me to translate. I'll also take photos and maybe scan stuff or steal images when possible.
How much does the game cost?
The starter pack (NESYS card, player card, 4 Familiar cards) costs 500 yen. To actually play the game costs 300 yen and you can continue for 200 yen, which basically means 500 yen for a couple rounds. You get a card after you finish playing (two if you continue), this is the only way to acquire cards in the game.
Where are the LoV machines located?
How do I learn how to play?
All new players get to start a tutorial mode that takes place over two parts and explains selecting your cards, basic combat, advanced combat (special moves), the various parts of the playing field, changing characters, Sacrifices, and equipping your player (armor/weapons/clan affiliation/etc). In addition all locations have playing guides set out that you can take home and read, or at least stare at the pretty pictures.
Will I get stared at if I try to play this?
No more than you do any other time in Japan.
Will this game be coming out in the US?
Probably not given the death of the arcade in America. I could maybe see a console version that would drop the card aspect, but (judging by the stacks of 50+ cards I've seen some people shuffling through) this is one of those games that keeps on paying for itself and SE may wanna keep it that way.
