There are three game modes in Lord of Vermillion: Story Mode, Online Battle, Local Battle.

Story Mode

In Story Mode, you progress across a linear story line, defeating enemies in various scenarios, slaying bosses, and leveling your familiars.

Online Battle

In Online Battle, you face off against opponents playing across the country. Players are matched up with players of similar levels if possible.

Local Battle

In Local Battle, you face off against opponents in the same location.
