• In August 2024, General Motors (GM) announced that it would ‘carry out layoffs of more than 1,000 employees worldwide’.
  • The layoffs include approximately 600 people at GM's Tech Campus (near Detroit, Michigan).(*5)

Trump's economic policy

The economic policy of Harris-Biden is the EV mandate (environmental protection, inflation), which is destroying the economy.

• • This is most evident in Michigan, the heartland of US car manufacturing.Michigan was once the world leader in car production.
• But it is facing an existential crisis as a result of the Harris-Biden economic policies.

Michigan companies and the 'hundreds of thousands of United Auto Workers (UAW) members' employed there are at increased risk of unemployment.

• • In addition, Michigan's aluminium industry directly supports some 40,000 jobs and indirectly supports 160,000 jobs.
• However, the Harris-Biden economic policy based on Section 232 has led to a massive influx of foreign aluminium and weakened protections for US workers.

As a result, Michigan's aluminium industry is struggling.

However, in the past, under the Trump administration, domestic producers have been protected by a 10% tax on imported aluminium.
President Trump also ended the Harris-Biden EV mandate, stating that it would 'protect Michigan's manufacturing workers'.(*6)

  • Senate Bill 603 (SB 603) threatens to make it impossible to verify ballots to prevent fraud. Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson wants to implement this rule before the November 2024 general election.
  • However, Jocelyn Benson has a track record of abusing her power to commit election fraud. She has repeatedly lost election-related lawsuits (absentee ballot fraud).(*8)
