EWI USBに添付されているソフトウェア音源ARIAについて。

ARIA Engine / ARIA Player

ARIA Engine (ARIA Player) は Plogue Art et Technologie と Garritan が共同で開発したソフトウェア音源エンジンである。

そして、このエンジンを駆動する部分 (GUIなども含む) は ARIA Player と呼ばれている。
ARIA Engine/ARIA Playerは単独では販売されない。EWI USBやGarrtitan Personal Orchestra 4のように、音色データと共に販売されている。

ARIA採用音源 = ARIA Engine + ARIA Player + 音色データ(SFZ互換) + 各種設定 (CCの割り付けやGUI)

SFZの仕様

Garritan Debuts ARIA Sample Engine at NAMMによると「Open Format: ARIA's default instrument file format is SFZ」とのこと。

• 2009-03-14 EWI USB USB WIND INSTRUMENTにて、「EWI USB - Aria Software Update for Win XP/Vista [v1.005]」と「EWI USB - Aria Software Update for Mac OSX [v1.005]」が提供された。
• 2009-03-14 kirino氏によるレポート(Mac版) WX5 workbook Blog EWIUSB(ARIA)バージョンアップ(v1.005)
• 2009-03-16 EWI USB用 エディターソフト／工場出荷時音色データ からも同じファイルをダウンロードできるようになった。(MD5,SHA-1の算出で比較したところ、同一だった)

ARIA PLayer - ABOUT

• 設定が2つ増えている
  • 「01: equal.scl」の部分は音律 (12平均率とか、純正率、ミーントーンとか) の設定か？
  • 「Center: C5」部分はA1、C4～C6を指定できるが、効果は不明。
• Garritanのショップサイト(Garritan)へのリンクが追加された

ARIA Player - Tools - Preferences

• Input MIDI DevicesやOutput MIDI Devices、Audio Devicesに日本語が使われていると文字化けし、別のデバイスと認識されるため、既存の設定が無視される。再度、ただしいデバイスを選択しておくこと。

ARIA PLayer - Tools - EWI Configuration

• ファームウェアバージョンの表示が追加された

• 左上のリセットを押したとき、Bteath CC2にAftertouchが割り付けられるようになった。

ARIA Engine を v1.1.1.1 にアップグレードしたときは、EWI USBも v1.1.1.1 アップグレードする必要がある。
（また、Garritan World Instrument を購入してインストールすると ARIA Engine が v1.1.1.1 にアップグレードされるので、この作業が必要になる）

• AKAI EWI USB Update
  • 「EWI USB」と「EWI USB_x64」の v1.1.1.1 版。Windows版はインストーラではないので、ダウンロードしたファイルを展開後に自分で上書きする必要がある。（Mac版については未確認だが、たぶん同じ）
  • 注意：（少なくともWindows版では）これらのファイルを上書きしても、「Akai EWI USB」「Akai EWI USB x64」の「ABOUT」タブのバージョン番号は変化しない。この理由は、これらのアプリケーションは「EWI USB/GUI/about.xml」に書かれている「 <StaticText text="Akai EWI USB v1005"」を表示しているだけなので。

ダウンロード販売、$149。Windows用とMac用の両方が同梱されている。
EWI USB付属の音源に比べると音域が広いため、オクターブキーが少ないEWI USBではもてあますかも。
2010-11-23時点のバージョンは「1.0 2010-11-20」で、大きさは 951MB (2.5MB/秒で約7分)、Windows版は ARIA Engine v1.1.1.1 / ARIA Player v1.111 を使用。

注意：EWI USB（ソフトウェア音源の方）を同じPCで使う場合は、v1.1.1.1 にアップグレード すること。
