**概要
「アサシン クリード」シリーズのナンバリング4作目。
今作の舞台は18世紀の海賊はびこるカリブ海。『[[III>アサシン クリードIII]]』で登場した海戦システムをより進化させている。
作曲者は『[[Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3]]』等を担当したブライアン・タイラー氏。
メインテーマの「Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag Main Theme」のフレーズを使った曲が多い。
またフィールド上にある楽譜を取ると、航海中に船乗り達が歌う曲のレパートリーが増える。
