• The Essence of Grief is the plan to create PSHE lessons with greater immersion by physically experiencing all subjects discussed within them.
• This scheme was created by L.Braschi and S.Moroné of Alliance Number 1, acquaintances in PSHE lessons, who considered the quality of such sensitive lessons to be inadequate relative to the severity of topics discussed.
• For the Gambling lesson, an hour-session of randomised gambling was initiated using calculators, and for the debt lesson stationery was owed to each party by lending it to one another.
• For the drugs lesson, hay-fever medication was covertly exchanged by the duo in the corridor outside the PSHE classroom.
• For the alcohol lesson, chocolate liqueurs were prepared and taken at home.
• For the contraception & consent lesson, contraception was deemed inviable and thus consent was the focus. In the end, simply asking each other's consent to touch a pencil was their solution to carry out this "consent."
• The fertility lesson was very difficult. Due to the very sombre nature of the lesson, nothing was conducted in the hour, but it has been decided by S.Moroné that one's existence is an example of fertility enough.
• For the lesson focused on grief however, it was deemed necessary to physically murder/cause the death of a person close enough to them so as to endure true "Grief".
• D.Golding was chosen, and was (in lore) run over by a flaming bus after he took one step out of a hospital post-surgery. However, he was then canonically resurrected as the lesson turned out to be a false alarm and not at all about grief.
• For the true grief lesson, D.Golding was (in lore) speared by a falling beach umbrella which had been propelled into the sky by dynamite, with the lunch at the funeral being described as so good "T.Golding should be murdered next" to taste it once more by S.Moroné.
• Furthermore, D.Crowther-Day was also eaten by crabs.
• Due to the truly sombre nature of the actual lesson, these topics were consciously unmentioned throughout the span of the hour itself.
