1957年録音のワン・ホーン・アルバム。ルーとの相性が良いフォスターのピアノとお馴染みバレットのコンガが印象的な作品。“ソウル”という言葉を初めてタイトルに使った作品と言われる。

そんなメロディが活きるのもルードナルドソンが吹けばこそ。原曲は歌詞があったりもするんですが、もうこれでいいです。これがいいです。心が休まる楽しさ。2曲目の「 I won't cry any more 」 頭から離れません。

若きハーマンフォスターがオルガンではなくピアノを弾いてます。その他、いつものルー一家の皆さんはいませんが、ご本尊がいれば何も問題はないみたいです。さすが。
