概要

日本神話をベースとした世界観を旅するSFC末期の名作。
主人公のジンと、魔物の姿にされてしまったヲクウを交互に操作しながら進めていく。

パッケージ・説明書には「アクションRPG」と書かれているが、システムはどちらかというと
「不思議のダンジョン」シリーズに近く、厳密に言えばローグライク的なターン制に、
パズルとアクションの要素もあるサイドビューのシミュレーションゲーム、といったところ。

本来は、1996年にエニックスから「勾玉伝説」としてリリースされる予定だったが、
諸般の事情により開発・発売中止になった。だが、ソフトはほぼ完成していたため、
T&Eソフトから合意の上で翌年発売された経緯がある。
ただ、そのため出荷数は少なく、現在では激レアソフトとして知られている。

作曲は増田順一が全曲担当し、なんと通常戦闘曲で10曲以上、ボス曲で6曲もある。
