概要

シリーズ化されたエイティング(旧ライジング)開発の3D対戦格闘アクション。獣化というパワーアップシステムが特徴。
音楽は当時ライジング所属の並木氏、宮城氏に加え、崎元氏、本山氏、小谷野氏といったライジング作品ではおなじみの作曲家が参加。
アーケードとプレイステーションでは作曲者が違うためBGMが異なる。これは続編の『2』でも同様。
プレステ版でも設定でアーケード版のBGMを流すことは可能である。
