催眠の資格ってどうなってるの？

アメリカの学術系でない職業催眠家の団体の一つ、ＮＧＨ（National Guild of Hypnotists：全米催眠家協会）のＦＡＱ（よくある質問とその答え）には、こんな項目がありました。
Question: I see all sorts of letters after hypnotists names, what do they mean?
質問：催眠家の名前の後ろにくっついてる略称っていろいろあるけど、あれってどういう意味なの？
Answer: The issue of credentials is important. Here are some of the titles being used:
解答：資格の問題は重要だね。使われてる称号のいくつか並べてみるよ。
- CH = Certified Hypnotist 認定催眠家
- CHT = Certified Hypnotherapist 認定催眠療法士
- BCH = Board Certified Hypnotist 公認催眠家 （言葉的にはCertifiedよりは正式な感じを出してる）
- CCH = Certified Clinical Hypnotist (or Hypnotherapist) 認定臨床催眠士（催眠療法士）
- MH = Master Hypnotist マスター催眠家
- CMH= Certified Master Hypnotist 認定マスター催眠家
- DCH = Doctor of Clinical Hypnotherapy 催眠療法博士

The list goes on. Since our profession is not licensed or regulated, technically, anyone could use or invent any title they like as long as the title is not protected by law i.e. Doctor, Psychologist, Psychriatist etc.
リストはいくらでも続く。我々専門家がライセンスをもたなかったりや登録していなかったりするなら、その称号が（博士や心理士や精神科医のように）法律で保護されてでもいないかぎり、形の上では、どんな人でも好きな称号を使ったり自分で作ったりできることになる。
Currently many recognised professional hypnosis organisations are trying to get everyone to use the same titles based on the level of training achieved. In general, the following is the way most professional groups issue their certificates:
現在、多くの認められた職業催眠家の団体は、同じレベルのトレーニングを修了した全員に同じ称号を与えようと取組み出している。おおよそのところ、大抵の職業催眠家団体では、以下の基準で認定書を出す。
1. After completing a basic training the student would use the title “Hypnotist.”
１．基本的トレーニングを修了したなら、「催眠家Hypnotist」の称号を使ってよい。
2. After completing advanced training the title would be generally “Certified Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist.”
２．上級トレーニングを修了したなら、一般的に「認定催眠家Certified Hypnotist」か「認定催眠療法士Certified Hypnotherapist」となる。
3. After completion of an advanced specialised “Clinical” training the title would be, “Certified Clinical Hypnotist or Hypnotherapist.”
３．臨床に特化した上級トレーニングを修了したなら、「認定臨床催眠士Certified Clinical Hypnotist」あるいは「認定臨床催眠療法士Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist」となる。
4. The terms “Master” is irrelevant and has no real meaning.

5. Board Certification is achieved by those who have displayed a high level of training.

6. The term “Doctor or PhD” (unless earned in another state licensed vocation) has no legal standing and represents no statement of approved, accredited education. There are a few schools that advertise these controversial “degrees” in hypnotherapy, with programmes that are entirely or almost entirely correspondence courses. These “degrees” are not accredited, and have been highly criticised in the media and by many professional organisations.
６．「ドクター(Doctor)、博士（PhD）」なる語は、（他の州でふさわしいライセンスを取得したのでもない限り）いかなる法的地位も持っておらず、許可を受け、正式認可された教育を受けたことをまったく示すものではない。催眠療法についての物議をかもしている「学位」を宣伝している２、３の学校があるが、完全に通信制コースか、ほとんど全部のプログラムを通信教育で行っている。こうした「学位」は、正式認可されておらず、メディアや多くの専門家団体によって強く批判されている。
