概要
フィンランド系ゲーム開発者Arsi Patala(通称「Hakita」)率いる製作チームによって製作されているブーマーシューターゲーム。ジャンルは一人称シューターで、レトロでローポリなグラフィックが印象的。敵の血液を身に浴びて原動力に変換する殺戮マシンを操り、悪魔や天国の使者を薙ぎ倒して地獄を制圧するウルトラバイオレントなゲームである。サウンドトラックは、ULTRAKILLという名に恥じぬ過激な楽曲で満ちている。
ゲームのストーリーは3つのACTに分けられており、それぞれがアルバムを持っている。3つ目のACT『Godfist Suicide』は製作中であり、まだアルバムがリリースされていない。
また、製作途中ということもありまだ和訳に至っていない。有志による和訳modは存在するが、最新版に対応しないものが殆どである。
サウンドトラックの大半はHakita自身が手掛けており、彼の所属する実験的メタルバンド『Heaven Pierce Her』の名の下で公開している。彼の曲はギターリフや強烈なブレークコアサンプルで知られており、ギターはMIDIを使用せずに彼の弾く生音源が使われている。
サウンドトラックにはHakita自身の曲の他に、多数のゲストアーティストによるオリジナルの楽曲や、パブリックドメインである楽曲も含まれている。
