"The life-size, homemade Vocaloid show in Shinji's living room."
"VLP Project" or "Vocaloid Live Projection" is a homemade system designed to recreate the look of a live Vocaloid concert with life-size characters.
Using rear projection technology, MMD models and animations appear to move in 3D space in my living room without the need for a Dilad screen.
All images are photographed live and are in no way digitally composited or "green-screened" into the video. This is NOT Augmented Reality. My goal was to make various videos with life-size Vocaloid and other characters performing in my living room.

Omnidirectional scattering of light rendered as a real image on a porous and transmissive plane - a technique used in low-gain, high-uniformity front and rear projection systems that enables the background to be visible behind the projected image.

VHT Project
"VHT Project" or "Vocaloid Home Theater" returns to the original goal of "MMD Live" but uses a completely different technology.
"VHT Project" attempts to recreate the feel of a live Hatsune Miku concert similar to a Mikupa event on a small scale.
Using traditional holographic rear projection technology, MMD models appear to move in 3D space on a miniature stage. All images are photographed live and are in no way digitally composited or "green-screened" into the video.
This is NOT "Augmented Reality." My goal was to make a full-length "concert" by shooting continuous sections of animation with set lists and animations provided by my fans.

What Is MMD LIVE?
"MMD LIVE" is a homemade project that attempts to recreate the feel of a live VOCALOID concert on a small scale.
Using holographic-illusion (Pepper's Ghost) technology, MMD models appear to move in 3D space on a miniature stage without the need for a projector.
What's the point of this project?
The goal of the MMD LIVE project is to demonstrate an alternate technology that could be used for live Vocaloid concerts. Due to resource and budget limitations, I was not able build a life-sized version of this project. However, it can be done and the same technology I used for this project can be used for Miku's concerts. This would solve 3 problems:
1 - Elimination of the glow stick reflections on the screen
2 - Even illumination across the entire area - Miku does not fade as she moves horizontally
3 - Elimination of projector light obscuring parts of Miku
How it Works
Optical superimposition of virtual images - a technique known as Pepper's Ghost which has been modernized in the Musion Eyeliner system.
