概要

カプコンの第6開発部（当時）によって制作された新機軸のアクションRPG。
一見いわゆる無双系のように見えるがプレイヤー側も複数人で戦うのが大きな特徴。
冲方丁原作の小説に沿って物語が展開するものの、物語よりも俳優たちによる独特の吹き替えの印象が強い。

サントラは深澤秀行氏が初めて手掛けたゲーム音楽であり、ドラムンベースなどを大胆に取り入れている。
ゲーム本編のステージ曲は異なるアレンジのものが裏で常に流されていてプレイヤーの状況に応じて表曲と音量を切り替え、スムーズにクロスフェードするようになっている。
