"HOW DARE YOU DO THAT!"
+ | Contents |
Overview
- Lucas Golenevsky is the second teacher in this game.
- He is in charge of the subject of language and appears in Language Level.
- He has the appearance of a dog. ...Or rather, in the description for Language Level, he is referred to as a "cute dog," so it is confirmed that he is a dog.
- Perhaps for this reason, you can hear a sound like a dog breathing near him, and he himself likes to eat dog food.
- Due to the influence of William Thorne's curse, just like Angelica Wilkins and others, if you get even one of his problems wrong, he will immediately fly into a rage, his eyes glowing red, and he will try to kill you.
Behavior
- His behavior has many points in common with Marzia in AEwVS. However, there are also quite a few differences, and he requires a different approach than she does.
- He moves with a "zhgo, zhgo" sound, but this footstep sound is very quiet, making it difficult to notice his approach.
- By the time you can hear his footsteps, he's already right there, so if you hear them, you need to be on alert immediately.
- As mentioned above, you can also hear his breathing sound when he gets close, but by the time you can hear it, you will almost certainly be caught, and with the characteristic mentioned later, it's almost impossible to use his breathing sound as a way to sense his approach. In fact, most of the time you hear his breathing sound is during the transition to the game over screen after he catches you.
- Also, like Marzia, he has the characteristic of moving faster temporarily while you are looking at him. For this reason, it is recommended that you keep him out of your sight as much as possible.
- However, the increase in speed is quite modest, and he does not accelerate suddenly like Marzia does. But perhaps as a tradeoff, the increase in speed when you get a question wrong is quite large, and in the late stages, his base movement speed itself becomes very fast. Combined with the fact that language notebooks take a long time to solve and his footsteps are barely audible, his base speed itself becomes a threat in the late stages.
- Perhaps because he has proper arms, unlike Marzia, he can open doors normally. For this reason, trying to confirm if he is behind a door by his breathing sound is almost impossible (as most of the time he will open the door and catch you the moment after you hear his breathing).
- However, it is still possible to confirm if he is behind a door by listening for his footsteps. If you open a door without caution and he is on the other side, it will be difficult to react, so if you don't know his current location, be sure to check for footsteps before opening the door.
- Note that after you collect a certain number of notebooks, or if you play in Brainiac mode, he will start breaking down doors. Since he can already open doors, the difficulty doesn't change muchand if anything, it feels easier, but he breaks through with a tremendous sound, which is sure to surprise you. So the horror factor is doubled.
- By using the Opened dog beef item when you are close to him, you can offer it to him and, like Angelica, make him retreat to a specific point. The fact that he stays in that spot for a certain amount of time and then resumes the pursuit is also the same.
- And the fact that it is only effective for up to 3 times is also the same, and on the 4th time, he will resume the pursuit at an incredible speed, and the item will become ineffective, which is also the same.
- It is very difficult to notice his approach, and since using Opened dog beef when he is not around has no particular disadvantage like the Chicken, it's a good idea to just spam the left click if you are unsure if he is nearby.
- In the late stages, his speed becomes quite fast, and accidents where he catches up to you while you are solving a notebook are likely to happen, so it is recommended to use the Opened dog beef to neutralize him and safely finish the level. For this reason, it is recommended to save the Opened dog beef until the late stages as much as possible.
- When you collect all 20 language notebooks, you will enter a final chase with him. He will praise you and tell you that the nightmare is not over yet, and he will tell you to get out of his floor. After that, the background music will start, and just like last time, as the music gets more intense, he will destroy the door at the back of the room and resume the pursuit. During the final chase, he will chase you at a slightly slower speed than your running speed, and just like last time, he will instantly destroy doors in his way, and the Opened dog beef will also be ineffective.
- In the final chase, you need to return to the elevator and enter the numbers written on the notebooks you have collected so far, but if you have collected all the math notebooks beforehand, Angelica will hold him back in front of the elevator. In this case, he will shout at her to let him go, but she will not listen, and he will continue to struggle. From this, it seems that he is no match for her in terms of strength (though it's also possible that he was caught off guard and can't move).
- When you finish entering all the numbers correctly, his anger subsides, and his red eyes return to their normal state (if he is being held back by Angelica, he will remain that way). The player then proceeds to the next level, Science Level, in the activated elevator.

Side Note
- In versions before alpha 0.0.8, there was a bug where if you made an incorrect answer after giving him Opened dog beef but before he resumed his pursuit, his chase speed would be fixed at the maximum value. For this reason, in videos of these versions, players would intentionally try to remember the number of seconds until he resumed his pursuit and would not solve notebooks during that time.
- This bug was fixed in beta 0.1.0, so it is no longer necessary to be mindful of this.
- Actually, in the remastered version, only Angelica and he have not had the content of their dialogue before the final chase in Puss mode corrected.
- In the classic version, the last word of this dialogue was consistently "LITTLE ○○!" in every level, but since they were all quite inappropriate expressions except for her and his dialogue, it is believed that they were corrected to comply with Steam's terms of service, which is the platform for the remastered version's release.
