I myself do not know underground sites from the dawn of the internet, so I think I am not the person who should make this, but since no one is writing about the history of these underground sites, I have compiled the history of underground sites to the best of my knowledge.
As something that covers the history of the internet comprehensively, there is A History of the Internet in Japan That Isn't in Textbooksヽ(´ー`)人(´ー`)ノ Opened, and more recently, there is Heisei Net History (provisional) broadcast on NHK in 2019, (Heisei Net History Wiki), and for text sites, there is "Internet History Timeline with Many Personal Sites", but I think there are few that comprehensively cover underground sites.
I say "underground site", but I am just referring to the overall dark image at the time as underground, and it is not necessarily an illegal site. For example, if you look at "World of Despair", which was popular on text sites at the time, the communist hobby site that is still running today, Yugeki Internet, and the security site, "Security Akademeia", you can get a sense of the atmosphere at the time. There are some sites called warez sites, but I will not deal with them in this paper.
The genre of underground sites is too diverse to categorize, so the underground discussed on this page is only the knowledge, experience, and interests of the author. There may be some things missing, but please forgive me. If you have any comments or additions, please send them to Twitter.
My favorite site (that I used to like) is "Blax's Hideout" and "Security Akademeia". I also want this wiki to be close to that site if possible. (In reality, I cannot catch up to that level of technology, so this wiki deals with the humanities genre, not the science genre.)
Note that Blax's Hideout is closed, so I will post a link to the web archive. There are many closed links on this page, so please check them in the Internet Archive as appropriate.

The five phases of cyber-space/real-world relations
(Excerpt from IT Social Incidents IT Social Problems)
Figure 1 shows the early days of the Internet. The real world and cyberspace coexist. It was independent from the real world as a utopia and a netizen. A pastoral, bright image. (Until around 1995)
In Figure 2, cyberspace is rapidly expanding due to the development of the Internet. As the influence of cyberspace increases, it shifts from a free space to a regulated space. There is also a dark image of a surveillance society.
Figure 3 is depicted as a Möbius strip. The distinction between the front and back of the earth (the real world) disappears. Everyone becomes a resident of cyberspace. (Until about 2005)
In Figure 4, the real world is on top of cyberspace. The domination of cyberspace has increased. (Around 2010)
Figure 5 The cyber world is on top of the real world. A proper and ideal way for people to use cyberspace autonomously.
Although the distance is different from Figure 1, the composition is almost the same.
(1) The first underground site is said to be "Ayashii World" in 1996. It is the beginning of a lawless zone that was truly independent of the government, as expressed in Declaration of Independence of Cyberspace (1996).
In 1998, "Computer Evil Manual" was released, and in 1999, "2channel" (now 5channel) was established and is still one of the largest bulletin boards. In 1999, the UG link collection "Japan Trench(japandeep)" was also opened, and it was the most comprehensive site as a link collection by genre, including MP3, WAREZ, security (hack/crack proxy, serial, virus), emulator (games like Famicom), UG sites, and strange worlds (suicide, drugs, tools).
At the same time, "Gekiura Information" was established in 1999, and this site still exists today and has published several books.
1996/9 "VAJRAYANA Search for Truth" opened. It is a site that introduces Aum Shinrikyo in a comical way, and it still lives on in a site called "Ouma's World".
"World of Despair" was a popular text site at the time, and in my case, I think I got it on a floppy disk from an acquaintance. At that time, data was mainly text, so a floppy disk (which I remember was 1.4MB at the time) had enough data on it.
(2) It was an era when warez and pirated game ROMs were still lax, and it was common to decrypt disguised files uploaded on underground sites with "raruty," "ume-kono-mikan," and "Shiko-sama" (by the way, Shiko-sama was a character from the popular eroge ONE To the Shining Season, Yuzuki Shiko). The lawless underground sites gradually transitioned to the winMX file sharing software released in 2001, as police crackdowns on the internet intensified and disguised files completely disappeared.
(3) 1996/11/1 Yugeki Internet opened. It is a long-established communist hobby site that still exists.
(4) "Security Akademeia" opened.
Although it was opened in 2002, it is a historic site that has the flow of the 90s.
It is a high-level site that is still being updated. The Wizard Bible was closed due to the Wizard Bible incident. (This wizardbible can also be found on the Internet Archive)
There are many books, including All About Cryptography, Hacking Lab, Hacker's School Lock Picking Textbook, Hacker's School, Hacker's School Personal Information Investigation Textbook, Hacker's Textbook Complete Edition, etc.
2.Underground sites in the early 2000s
(0)Underground books and underground sites
①Early Period
Before the Internet existed, books were the only way to get underground information. "Dangerous No. 1" and "Dangerous No. 28" and other Data House books mainly published underground information (cracking, drugs, high energy), but I would like to mention the authors among them who still exist.
Published "Manufacturing Chemistry". Later arrested in 2017 on suspicion of MDA manufacturing
Yui Aso
Founder of the cannabis liberation organization "Cannabist"
Naofumi Katsuragawa
Person related to Mr. Shirasaka, organizer of the cannabis liberation organization "THC"
The articles of these people spread underground information, and it gradually spread to the early internet.

In the early 2000s, drug regulations were relaxed, so it seems that drug experience stories were the main focus. Also, since magic mushrooms were legal at the time, the "Kyodai Mushroom Club" and "Fun Mysterious Botanical Garden" sites published how to grow mushrooms (of course, it is illegal now). I don't know if it was because of the commotion caused by a certain actor I with these mushrooms, but they became illegal.
"Kyodai Mushroom Club" is a site run by Teiji Haruhito, who was a student at Kyoto University, about his experience using magic mushrooms, and the circle, but later they also launched an opposition movement when MM became illegal. Teiji Haruhito published "MM Diary" after it became illegal.
MM Diary imageプラグインエラー : ご指定のファイルが見つかりません。ファイル名を確認して、再度指定してください。 (41E1DBRR3ZL.jpg)
②Development Period
I think it started with those who were knowledgeable about chemistry, mainly high-energy related people, aiming to synthesize drugs.
"Dangerous No. 1" and "Dangerous No. 28" were published beforehand, but Neo Mugisyu, a high-energy person (who also served as the vice-manager of Blax's Hideout) established "Genuine Moldy Boiled Okaka Flavor Beijing-produced Raw Sars" in 2003, and it was initially a site centered on plants, but gradually shifted to synthesis. It seems that he had exchanges with Blax's Hideout and Gekiura Information. Furthermore, Neo's book "Odd Month" was praised by the late Ramo Nakajima, and there was talk of publishing it with Ramo's introduction, but the talk of publishing it was canceled when Ramo died suddenly.
Around this time, "Yakushiji's book", Yakuri Kyoshitsu "Dark Chemistry Seminar", and "The Unreasonable Science Textbook" were also published. In 2005, "Textbook of Drugs" was released.
Also, because seeds were sold until 2009, there were "General Plant Cultivation Methods", "Fooling how to" and "420grow wiki".
(Fooling how to can be found by a Google search. It is also possible that it exists in the tor board's tor board supplement plan. (Neither has been confirmed.))
(1)High Energy System
① In 2000, "Pack's Hideaway" was opened. This site contained information on how to make high energy (that is, bombs) and Gekiura-like information. This site was later renewed as "Blax's Hideout" in 2002 after deleting the bomb information. (Pack's hideout was treated as if it never existed).
②THEBBS ~ Many threads of bomb kitchens were created in the 2000s. The famous users at the time were "Former Scientist," "Kirishima," "Neo Mugisyu," and "Samurai Sword," and in later times "Dr. Kiriyu", and information on high energy overflowed on the internet.
Dr. Kiriyu began distributing manuals for hydrogen sulfide and bombs around 2009, and became somewhat famous for driving the manga artist "Ushimushi" to death with hydrogen sulfide in 2011.1. He has posted an enormous number of threads on 2channel (now 5channel) and the TOR board, and he is undoubtedly one of the main culprits in spreading hydrogen sulfide, but it is strange that his name recognition is somehow poor. Remnants remain (were remaining) on the TOR board around 2013. For a time, he called himself the "Japanese Silent Terrorist Party". He left a tweet suggesting suicide on 2019.6.20 and disappeared, but has recently (2020) tweeted in hiragana and has revived.
He is also the person who translated the hydrogen sulfide manual into English under the name Dr.death and spread hydrogen sulfide overseas
.
①Overview
I also liked the unique underground feel created by the background image and BGM (What I saw in the moonlit forest) of Blax's Hideout.
Blax's Hideout contained information such as "Trip with Banana Peel?" and "How to Copy CCCDs (Copy-Controlled CDs)", and information like Yakuri Kyoshitsu's "The Unreasonable Science Textbook", and the bulletin board was also very lively. There is a possibility that Mr. Blax himself was also a member of Gekiura Information, and I think there was mutual exchange.
(Also, it seems that Mr. Kurare of Yakuri Kyoshitsu also posted on the bulletin board...? He may have had some kind of relationship with Yakuri Kyoshitsu.)
②In 2009, it was discovered that Amazon was doing forced affiliate marketing. Whether he didn't want to be bashed, he suddenly closed down.
There is a ZIP file of this site on the tor board MID download of the music that was playing in Blax's Hideout (What I saw in the moonlit forest) https://web.archive.org/web/20070919163905/http://www.star-fra.com/blax001/
(3)The Homepage That Condemns Bratty Kids(Different page version)
Opened around 2000. It was a site that exposed the real names of juvenile offenders. It claimed to be operating the server in Taiwan, which has no diplomatic relations. It continued while changing URLs, but its activities have ceased since around 2014.
It may be that the world has become such a networked society that even without Mr. Aoi, there are many cases of public exposure of real names, etc., which may have been a factor. Currently, a person called "Aoi Tatsuo Fan" handles juvenile crime on Twitter.
Aoi Tatsuo Fan @aoitatsuo

A.Serial Bulletin Board
Opened in 2002.
It seems to have existed until 2019 while changing URLs. As the name suggests, it was a long-lived site that published serials.
The published serial collection is as follows

Domestic butt sites are gone, and now only overseas https://www.serials.ws/ survives.
(On the tor board, BCAS cracking called BLACKCAS, and cracking of Kantai Collection (which has been low recently?) are circulating, but it is thought that these are all illegal and it is better not to get involved.)
How to use CHiCHiNPUiPUi
CHiCHiNPUiPUi-dec2010.rar
Eris-20080604.zip
Procedure
Download the two files from the above site.
Decompress CHiCHiNPUiPUi-dec2010.rar, and copy the "DESTIJL.lu" file to the Eris folder created by decompressing Eris-20080604.zip.
Executing Eris.exe will allow you to search for the tails of various applications.
Caution)
A virus, "Trojan.Generic.2186769"?, was discovered when the above "Eris-20080604.zip" was decompressed. It is recommended that those who are not familiar with computers do not run it.
Please do everything at your own risk.
Since there was something called "Eris+Serials20201101" on the tor, this may be the latest version (November 2020) of CHiCHiNPUiPUi.
(On the tor board, BCAS cracking called BLACKCAS, and cracking of Kantai Collection (which has been low recently?) are circulating, but it is thought that these are all illegal and it is better not to get involved.)
(5)ogrish
It is also listed as a word you should not search for. It still exists, but it became famous when the video of the murder of Shosei Koda, who was a victim in the Iraqi Japanese youth murder incident, was released in 2004. This video was also shown on the news just before the murder, and the internet and reality began to connect.
(6)){esexy (Proxy)}
In the 90s and early 2000s, there were higher hurdles to disclosing information on the internet than there are now, so it was believed that anonymity could be guaranteed by using a proxy. Stacking multiple of these proxies is called a multi-stage proxy.
esexy ~ a simple proxy on the web. 2ch cannot be written when using a proxy, but for some reason, it was possible to write by using this proxy until about 2004. It was eventually regulated and its role ended.

(8)Closure of the 2channel Drug Board and After
The 2channel drug board was like a lawless zone, but in 2010, writing began to be restricted, in 2011, 2channel was searched, and in 2014, the drug board was closed. Here, the residents of the drug board were forced to move to other threads (mushroom board, gardening board, etc.) or to the onion channel, and it continues to the present.
(1)Overview
In the 2010s, underground sites in the pure sense of the word disappeared, and they either became commercialized, specialized, or moved to the dark web such as the onion channel.
2012/6 The registry public disclosure site "Taniuta" was opened, and the registry of a certain party and multiple religious organizations was published, but it is currently not being updated.
2012/9 "Address de Pon!", created by Mr. Tottori Loop using NTT telephone directory data, was published. The URL has been changed, and now it exists under the name Online Phonebook (wikipedia).
2014/7 A blog called Guerilla Blog, which caused the Kantei Santa and Kantei drone incidents, existed, but it has now been deleted.
(Logs exist on the onion channel) http://xiwayy2kn32bo3ko.onion/test/download.cgi?board=ura&id=2016121011134401589&filetype=.7z
2014/11 A "Aum Shinrikyo Unofficial Site" was opened, and it still exists today, changing its URL.
2016/01 ASKA's blog (2016_01_09 published - cache) - Togetter summary is published. (Remnants exist on the onion channel)
These kinds of weird document-like sites do exist, but their life span is not long, and in the end, the surface web that is still surviving is limited to Go-channel, Gekiura Information, Yugeki Internet, and Security Akademeia.
An anonymous bulletin board managed by the department in charge of cracking of a fictitious religious group called Koushinkyo. In terms of technical information, it has the largest amount of information among Hidden Services.
2019.11 Address changed. The image bulletin board has disappeared and it has become the same 2channel system as the onion channel. The tor link collection is easy to use. Offline since the end of July 2020.
A bulletin board attached to My Notepad 2 in 2020.7. The bulletin board has become active since the onion channel went offline. Offline since the end of July 2020.
Closed in early October 2020. Operating hours are 11:00 - 24:00, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays are holidays. The one-line bulletin board used in My Notepad has been taken over. 2020 March Address change
(3)){Drug Control Trends on the Tor Board (Internet)}(For crime prevention purposes and to raise awareness)
(This is only a trend survey, and is for the purpose of preventing fraud and preventing crime. It does not recommend the use of drugs.)
Businesses
①Sales are active on the internet, but most are considered fraud, and there are many posts that say they were deceived. Even if they are deceived, they cannot go to the police, so they deserve it.
②There are also businesses that really do sell from time to time, but they will either be arrested or disappear from the beginning with the intention of deceiving money, and in the end, the money will often be taken.
③Importing dangerous drugs from overseas in the name of reagents was popular before the regulations on dangerous drugs became strict (around 2013?), and it was confirmed that after importing a dozen or so items as a personal import agency, they would run away with the money as in ② when other customers gathered.
Conclusion ~ The awareness that internet drug dealers are fraudulent should be spread.
Consumers
④Many of the people in the underground system on the internet have a deep desire for knowledge, and there are cases on the Tor board where they try to make drugs by themselves under the name of a chemical kitchen, but from past news, it can be considered that it is almost impossible to actually make them on a personal level.
However, the only things that can be made are plant-based products, including mushrooms.
Of these, mushrooms are regulated by law, and plants include cannabis and what is called ayahuasca, and the relevant threads were confirmed. There are also legal plants, and it is difficult to regulate these homemade plants. In recent years, Mr. Aoi Glass has been active in this field of ayahuasca.
⑤No threads have been seen that use silkroad to smuggle drugs by disguising them as personal imports. Unlike other countries, the language barrier and the customs barrier are large.
Distribution route of cannabis
①Cannabis is similar to the above trend, but since cannabis is easy to grow domestically as long as there is seed, it seems that there is a considerable amount of sales from domestic cannabis producers. The route for obtaining seeds seems to be mostly international mail and transport by air.
(Possession of seeds itself is illegal if the purpose is to grow cannabis, and of course it should not be done.)
Sometimes, they are sold under the guise of selling leftover seeds, but the possibility of fraud cannot be ruled out.
Even if they are leftover seeds, they are not F1, which is the product variety, but F2, which is a child seed of F1.
(F2 is not inferior, but it is more accurate biologically to say that there is variation in quality)
In the past, the Japanese Hemp Army (United Hemp Army Concept) said, "Liberation is only born from seeds," and there was a plan (delusion?) to scatter F2 varieties such as Skunk + Dosanko = Dosanku domestically, as well as PB (Plant Bomb), SB (Seed Bomb), mountain guerrilla, and abandoned village collective farm concepts, and the trend of whether such (self-proclaimed) cannabis liberation soldiers will be born in the future should be watched.
②Information on cannabis is quite widespread, and information is being spread on Tor claiming that cannabis is safe and teaching how to grow cannabis. Cannabis is becoming legal worldwide, but this is Japan, so there is a law because it is bad, there is a law because it is bad, and it is cracked down on because there is a law. Cannabis must be exterminated, and it seems that burning is sometimes done in the countryside to exterminate it. The possession of cannabis is illegal, but use is not illegal. It seems that this is due to the history of the enactment of the law, which did not make the crime of use in order to prevent domestic cannabis farmers from being arrested.
③Trends on the Tor board
Threads for growing cannabis and threads for smoking it have been confirmed. There are also many people who upload files such as "Fooling Howto", and photos that seem to be from the “Marijuana X” book published by third parties and photos that seem to be from cultivation. Occasionally, F2 species are exchanged.

④Although not directly related to tor, the interview with Kan akaGami, who was arrested for cannabis, in Jitsuwa Knuckles 2020/8 issue is not about remorse but about cannabis praise legalization articles and is conversely a noble article. Welcome! Animal Federation (Japanese) Book
A new drug manga artist who started Twitter around October 2019. When I look at (A federation), I personally remember Nekojiru, who committed suicide in '98. (If you have kindle unlimited, it's free, but unlike Nekojiru's gloomy side, Animal Federation has a mix of a kind of bottomless brightness and madness, and is characterized by a work that can be called a pure psychopath. Grass and paper also appear in Nekojiru's works, and they also appear in this work, which is a taste that only those who have experienced it can understand. Even if you are not interested in drugs, it is a groundbreaking introductory book in the sense of experiencing the underground atmosphere.

The prevalence of narcotics and illegal drugs and countermeasures
I thought that there might be a hint in researching how narcotics can be eradicated, and conversely, what the economic benefits are, and I thought about drafting this paper.
Recent narcotics distribution routes
With the exception of cannabis, narcotics cannot be produced domestically, so they can only be brought in through smuggling from overseas. Traditional Drug Smuggling was said to involve large-scale (sometimes 100 kg or more?) transactions through offshore disposal or offshore trading using GPS signals. It is presumed that the Yakuza were in charge of domestic transit due to this large-scale transaction, but in recent years (since 2015?), it is thought that offshore disposal and offshore trading have been almost eliminated due to the increased GPS detection capabilities. The recent trend is mostly smuggling by air, disguised as passengers, and it is thought that 9 or more out of 10 people will be caught, but if even one person is left, they can gain enormous profits, so there are those who commit dangerous acts. There is a trend of small-lot decentralization, and since smuggling by air, the distribution is done by foreigners staying in Japan, and the part where the yakuza are involved is decreasing.
Considering the producers before bringing them in, legal drugs were once imported at 100,000 yen per kg (100 yen per gram), but the production price of stimulants is probably lower than that. The retail price at the end is 100,000 yen per gram, which is 1,000 times the cost price, which is a great profit. The raw material benzaldehyde is 7 yen per gram, so if it is mass-produced, it may be even cheaper.
I guess the price difference between the production price and the retail price is shared by overseas mafias and domestic gangs, but since the smuggling price is unknown, I don't know what the split is. Since a high percentage is carried by foreigners, the percentage of domestic yakuza is probably almost non-existent anymore.
Conclusion ~ ① If smuggling by air can be eradicated, the influx of narcotics may be significantly reduced.
②It is not a simple problem that if you simply crack down on narcotics, you can eradicate them and solve the problem. Economically, if the supply decreases, it will lead to a rise in price, and eventually the supply will increase due to the "invisible hand of God". Basically, the cost of narcotics is almost nil.
(1)Early Period
It seems that there was also something called "FLmask incident" in 1996. It can be seen that even uncensored images were very valuable at the time.
Before winMX, I have honestly never seen anyone use sharing software. In my case, there was a tough guy who had 1000 CD-Rs, and I bought them from him for 100 yen each. I remember that HDDs were only about 2G ~ in 2000. That tough guy mainly had a large number of CDRs of Eroge, but the shock I received when I saw that he had something called an emulator was what got me into this world. I had heard of napster etc. from Game Lab information, but I don't remember seeing anyone actually using it until winMX came out in 2002, and I remember that buying and exchanging CDR was still the main way. It was at the beginning of winmx's release, and there was a guy doing winmx in the PC corner of a major electronics retailer, and when I opened the folder, to my surprise, the entire first episode of Gundam was available. It was an incomprehensible world. It soon became known to the store, and if there was anyone doing it, the staff would warn them. (Still, I was surprised that the MX app was still there... eventually it was gone with the files.)
①Eroge
Eroge that were popular in the early 2000s were so-called "crying games" such as KANON and ONE To the Shining Season, works by brand key, planned by Jun Maeda, and original drawings by Itaru Hinoue. Besides these, I was also shocked by MOON. , where if you are found by a cult, you will be raped, and Spiral Corridor, a work of rape.
These are things that allow you to play Famicom and Super Famicom on a PC. Now, PS2 has been put to practical use, but at that time, PS1 emulators (bleem!(discontinuedin 2001) and CVGS) were too slow to be of any use. It was after ePSXe came out that PS1 emulators became practically usable.
What shocked me about emulators was that I could use almost all titles, and that I could quick save at any time. With quick save, I could start over from any point, so I enjoyed playing games that I couldn't clear before.
With quick save, TAS videos gradually became popular on Nico Nico Douga.
For some reason, the emulator itself (what corresponds to the game hardware) is OK, but the ROM (game software) and bios are NG, so the emulator body can be downloaded on the surface web (but the bios is not allowed). This is because the purpose of the emulator is to run backed up software on a PC, and the purpose of downloading emulator software is to distinguish it as illegal.
As for the backup method, please refer to the backup application technique of Sansai Mook (all 40 volumes).
③Clone Game
There are too many clone games to introduce them all, so I will describe the clone games that I have encountered.
BMS (1998)
In the early 2000s, the clone game of beatmania called BMS was very popular. Development was in 1998. At that time, Flash was at its peak, so I remember laughing and being hooked on the funny flashes of Fist of the North Star and Doraemon.
M.U.G.E.N (1999)
The next thing that shocked me was a fighting game called M.U.G.E.N. This is a fighting game that mixes everything from Street Fighter II to SNK and even Dragon Ball characters, and its high degree of freedom was too innovative at the time.
According to mugen wiki, development began around 1999.
However, at that time, it was necessary to have a reasonably high-spec PC to run it, so there were not many opportunities to do it.
Life Owata's Great Adventure (2007)
It is an homage to Rockman, but it is an extremely cruel game with the irrationality of instant death after taking a single attack.
I Wanna Be the Guy (2007)
A work created under the influence of the above Owata's Great Adventure.
Downtown Special Special Kunio-kun's Jidaigeki! All Assemble! Jidaigeki SPSP (06/8/4-15/8/9)
A clone version of a game that was popular on the Famicom.
King of Kings G] (12/6/20-18/11/3)
Also a clone version of the Famicom, but it is even more free and interesting.
④Hack ROM Hack ROM - Nico Nico Encyclopedia
Hack ROM refers to a "modified ROM".
Famous for "Modified Mario" etc.
I remember enjoying watching videos of fully automatic Mario and VIP Mario. The VIP Mario series also made them into cruel games similar to I Wanna Be the Guy.
Before the internet, there was Street Fighter 2 Rainbow Kouryu etc., but I have never done it, and without emulators, hack ROMs would not have developed this much.
Personally, I enjoyed "Mario 3 Adventure," "FF5r," "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past," and "Gradius AC".
It seems that foreign investors are still continuing to create hack ROMs, and articles about recent hack ROMs are often published in Federation.
Recently, there is also something called 21/03/26 Corona Hack ROM as an inappropriate game.
winMX3.3 was released in 2002.
The initial setting of winMX is that you have to upload at least one file, but if you apply a zero patch, you can make it so that you do not upload, so it became almost default for MX users to use a zero patch. Furthermore, the tool "MXMoni" is a monitor that uploads only when the other party uploads, and it also became almost default to use this. There was also a tool called "WinMX Tool - ID & IP Manager" that could identify the IP from the ID.
The YouTube video "A video talking about the memories of the software WIN MX" has more details about this.
Due to the nature of exchanging files with each other, people sent each other IMs (instant messages), and MX itself had a (group) chat function, which made it very popular. The genres included music (Bz, XJAPAN, visual kei), anime, regional boards (●● prefecture), and even threads with explicit content such as "Cannabis Inn" and "Stimulant Agency Room". Since the site 2sen allowed chatting without starting winMX, you could enjoy chatting purely. There were also radical content, like the bulletin board of the current onion channel, but the proportion of ROMs (read-only members) that were just there during downloading was also large. This MX, ny had many disguised files, and of course, it often contained viruses, and I was often infected. I think it was at this time that I learned to have a separate HDD, evacuate, or put a password on the assumption that I would get a virus infection.
(3)winny
(4)Tools
(Mainly winMX, winny era)
①Until the decompression software winRAR came out, I used lhasa → lhaca (for rare extensions, try Shiko-sama, raruty, melt it), but winRAR was the definitive version at that time. I had been using it until "7z" came out.
②Codec / video software
ffdshow Update date 2014-09-30
Most of the codecs are included, so I used this.
Media Player Classic Update date 2015-06-01
Since the performance of PCs was not high at the time, I was using MPC, which runs lightly.
At that time, many people used "Vacuum Wave Research Institute" to determine which codec to use, but I strangely never used it. If it could not be played with the above codec, it was almost impossible, and even if I used the Vacuum Wave Research Institute, it would usually show that it was impossible to determine.
I stopped using these software when "vlc media player", which includes codecs, came out.
③CDR burning software / virtual CD (virtual DVD)
"CloneCD"
PC games often had protection, but cloneCD was a groundbreaking tool at the time because it could bypass them by creating CD images of protected CDs. It was quite mainstream to use "Daemon's Tools" to read virtual images of these images. Other CD writing software that avoided protection was CDRWIN, but I personally remember that it was too difficult to use. It seems that it is possible to boot a Dreamcast using this software, but the setting method is extremely strict. What is the mainstream free writing software now, "CDBurnerXP" perhaps? (I don't know)
It seems that the current mainstream virtual drive software is "VirtualCloneDrive". This tool's icon uses the sheep mark that was also used in clonecd, so it's probably from the same system.
④MP3 Creation
Creating MP3s from CDs ~ I used CDex and Gogo no Ko~da
⑤Virus countermeasures (all free)
AVG, Avira AntiVir, MSE
Since it was a state where viruses were almost guaranteed to enter, I was using AVG at that time.
⑥PC Lightweighting Tools
Since the performance of PCs was not high, I was using "Sukkiri!! Defrag" (early 2000s), "Memory Cleaner" that cleans memory, and "sleipnir" that tabs the Internet Explorer.

1. nanJ Iron Wall 4-piece Set = Tor + VPN + Virtual Box (OS Virtualization) + Linux-based OS
(1) TOR
TOR connects to the internet by connecting multiple relay nodes, so the anonymity of the communication route is high. However, the confidentiality of communication is low, and encryption is not performed at the exit node. Therefore, if a malicious exit node exists, information leakage and censorship are possible.
(2) VPN
①VPN has a high level of confidentiality of information due to encryption. However, if the VPN gate itself logs the information or it is leaked, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. VPNs themselves do not have anonymity of information.
②In order to ensure the confidentiality of information, which is a drawback of TOR, and to compensate for the anonymity of information, which is a drawback of VPN, techniques that use tor and VPN simultaneously have come to be used.
This method has become commonly used, so the main purpose of a certain T University VPN is to censor the internet, and it has stated that it will disclose logs if there is a legitimate request from investigative or judicial organizations.
In the early days, it was ubuntu (linux), but gradually other linux-based OSs, whonix and tails, became recommended. Both whonix and tails are always connected to tor, so the anonymity of communication is high. Also, since tails can be booted from a USB memory or DVD, more people are recommending tails.
(5) Trends after the 4-piece set ~ HDD encryption, or saving data on SD cards or USB memory, etc.
①tails ~ booting from DVD or SD card
As mentioned above, tails can be booted from USB memory or DVD, so after simple possession became illegal, as shown in the figure below, people encrypted the HDD, or saved data on USB memory or SD card with tails, and came up with methods like crushing the SD card if the National Police Agency came.
②HDD encryption
Initially, encryption was done with truecrypt, but now VeraCrypt, its successor, is recommended.
At the same time as encryption, decryption (removing encryption) is also important. The decryption method is to memorize the password or save the key file data on a USB stick (or microSD), but each has its advantages and disadvantages.
It is difficult to find new Japanese sites using Grams or Torch. For sites that do not have crawling restricted by robots.txt, search using Google search, such as "site:onion.to "(Japanese particle)" -site:xxx.onion.to". Here, xxx.onion.to is a known site that is excluded from the search results.
It is difficult to find sites that have crawling restrictions, or sites that have only English at the entrance using this method. You have to create a crawler yourself by making full use of YaCy or Wget and follow the links from existing Japanese sites or search by changing character strings that seem to have a sequential rule on the same bulletin board. For example, it is also effective to go up to the higher directory and look for links.
About Japanese Hidden Service
Anyone can operate a Hidden Service with only superficial knowledge. Therefore, you should not expect much technology from the people inside. The most common purposes for Japanese people to gather on a Hidden Service, other than "longing for a somewhat dark feeling", are drugs and child pornography. It is easy to imagine that the intellectual level of the people involved in these two types of content is low. Of course, there is also a layer that gathers for information security and the desire for dark knowledge, but it is a very small percentage overall.
And those who have the knowledge will cut their losses and flow to overseas English forums. Therefore, of course, the motivation for the creators will decrease. This is clear from the lack of motivation of the Tor board administrators. In order to break this trend, it is necessary to increase the Japanese speaker population in the entire Tor and promote the development of useful services.
First of all, regarding the increase in the Japanese speaker population, this opportunity comes often. This is because crimes using Tor are periodically reported on TV. People with mild cases of chuunibyou, when they see these reports, will first install Tor and try using it. However, compared to their usual internet, it is much heavier, and there is no content that they want to see enough to use a different browser, so they immediately stop using it. Furthermore, the exclusive atmosphere that pervades the entire Japanese internet community and the existence of self-proclaimed experts who hold back information for no reason, makes them less and less likely to feel the merit of continuing to use Tor. This is unfortunate.
I also think that it is not good to just listen and then disappear without investigating themselves, but those who have information should realize that if they do not keep the other party in the world of Tor and increase the population, the entire service will become depopulated. If they do not actively acquire new users, it is certain that Tor will become an uncomfortable place for everyone.
Secondly, regarding the development of useful services, I would like to strongly expect this from students who have time and technical skills to spare. A service can be built with one PC that is not being used. Also, you do not need to contract for a VPS or allocate a domain. If you do not leak the 16-digit address, third parties will not be able to access it. Furthermore, the service can be built even on your PC that you normally use. If it is only static content like this text, there is little risk of executing malicious programs. You can start with a blog service or something similar.
Also, many of the famous overseas services are done for profit-seeking purposes. It has been reported that Silk Road had hundreds of millions of yen in sales coming into the operations, and Alpha Bay, which has been the result of the flow of that customer base, can be expected to generate a considerable amount of revenue. Wouldn't it be much more promising to find a business opportunity here than trying to hit it big with a cheap smartphone app?
I plan to write a guide on how to execute Hidden Services on your own soon, but I urge those who have ideas for services to start today.

Creation of a history timeline of underground sites on the Internet
Introduction
Underground sites were born almost simultaneously with the Internet's emergence in the world in 1995. Countless underground sites were born, and most of them disappeared within a few years. As of 2015, underground sites hardly exist in the world of the internet.
However, the underground culture and technology built up in that era are still being passed down. Therefore, researching the history of the underground is nothing but researching the underground culture and technology. The above is the first reason for drafting this book.
Secondly, the genres of the underground are very diverse. There is a limit to the knowledge that I have alone, and it is a hopeless attempt to cover the wide variety of underground sites. Therefore, the underground sites introduced in this book will be ①UG general authority sites ②Drug related ③Cannabis related.
Also, in terms of information conservation and storage, not only link collections but also tools, books, PDFs, ZIPs, and other data will be described as systematically as possible.

January 2015
This book was written after recently (January 2015) reading A History of the Internet in Japan that is not in Textbooks ヽ(´ー`)人(´ー`)ノ and feeling nostalgic, and at the same time, feeling that it was quite different from the sites I had seen, so I wanted to take another look back at the underground sites of that time. "A History of the Internet in Japan that is not in Textbooks" ends in 2002, but rather I felt that the underground deepened further underground after the 2000s. Therefore, it will be a history of UG sites that is closer to the deepest part than "A History of the Internet in Japan that is not in Textbooks." And even if it is history, some sites are still alive today.
I first touched underground sites around 200X, when there were already voices in the UG saying "The underground is obsolete, the underground is obsolete". However, I think it was because everything had been completed to some extent, and there were no more frontiers left, or rather, it was a beauty in its end. There is a popular theory that the advent of the P2P era made UG sites obsolete. In my personal opinion, that is not accurate. When winMX came out, only "web cracking" had disappeared, and UG sites still existed. The "Unauthorised Access Law" enacted in 2000 also did not have much impact. The biggest impact was probably the appearance of winny. With winny, the kind of communication that existed in winMX was no longer necessary.
Around the time of winny, the internet gained citizenship and became nothing special. The UG was able to survive because the internet was a closed, virtual space that was limited to only a few and far removed from the real world. That is no longer the case. When the internet and the real world began to merge, the UG had no place to be, or rather, the bud of what is now called the "anti-profit" ideology began to be born. Crackdowns by the authorities also began, and it was no longer a lawless zone. Therefore, most of the UG sites have disappeared. But did UG sites completely disappear? Has everything that made UG sites so prosperous really disappeared from the earth? That's not true. What I thought after creating the timeline was that the culture and technology of UG sites is still alive.
I don't have the skills to convey how much of that living technology can be conveyed, so I may not be able to convey much.
However, it will have significance as a memorandum. Also, this book has not only a historical aspect but also a meaning of technical transmission. There is also the meaning of technical transmission, or information conservation and storage.
Yakuri Kyoshitsu publicly released "Dark Chemistry Seminar" PDF, which describes the synthesis of chloroacetophenone, adamsite, methylphenidate, modafinil, etc.

Summary site of the 2ch thread "The Thread Where Guys Who Will Smoke Any Grass Growing on the Street Gather," "Summary Page of the Thread Where Guys Who Will Smoke Any Grass Growing on the Street Gather" opened
It was a site that seemed to really sell drugs personally, and a cell phone number was also written. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it for the first time.
A photo of drug enforcement officers staking out was secretly taken and posted, which was a provocation. If you google it, the site still comes up, but updates have stopped. He will surely be arrested.
