71 Operation Lead Wall

Mission Text

Aliens are now approaching, and they're a pretty big unit. We should avoid engaging them head-on...but the city has been slow to evacuate. If we don't hold them back here, we expect severe casualties. We'll act as the wall they need to stop these invaders. It's our only option.

This operation will be known as Leadwall. Deploy into the already-evacuated area, build a defensive line there, and meet the alien infantry unit.

+ Title and text in EDF5 - With notes
29 Iron Wall

Mission Text

A large number of aliens are approaching. We're supposed to avoid direct confrontation, but the evacuation progress in the city is falling behind schedule. We must stop them or they'll cause the city significant harm.
We will form a protective wall and prevent the enemy from invading. This is the only way.

This operation is called "Iron Wall."
Let's deploy in the areas that have completed evacuation. We will shield the citizens off from the enemy infantry.

Note: The Japanese version title has also changed from "アイアンウォール(Iron Wall)" to "レッドウォール作戦(Operation Lead Wall)". Therefore, the title name in the English version is not incorrect.
Note: In the EDF6 Japanese version text, only アイアンウォール(Iron Wall) was changed to レッドウォール(Lead Wall); everything else remains the same.

Mission Start

Leader: We're in position. Ready to roll.
Soldier: Same here. We can see the whole battlefield from here.

Soldier: Over here, too!

Headquarters: All units stand your ground. Don't give them an inch.
Soldier: Aliens incoming!
Soldier: In the center of the area!
Soldier: The enemy's on the left side of the area!
Soldier: They're coming from the right, too!
Soldier: Commando unit, we're counting on you!

Soldier: The center of the area's under pressure. We need help!

(If The Player is near an allied snipers at the starting position)
Soldier: We're all good. Head down.
Leader: We'll cover you from here. Go ahead.

Soldier: Damn. I hate this rain.
Soldier: I've heard that Kruuls are weak to water.
Soldier: But they don't look weakened. In fact, they look energized.

(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: High mobility Androids from the right!
Soldier: The right side's under pressure! It's an army of high mobility Androids!

(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)

Headquarters: Kill every enemy in sight. Every last one.

(Annihilate all the enemies)
Soldier: Enemy army approaching. It's a massive force.
Headquarters: Damn it! We need to abandon our defensive line. All personnel, full retreat.
Headquarters: Hurry up! Retreat!

72 Follow That Fortress

Mission Text

The walking fortress continues its advance. It has already trampled and destroyed countless neighborhoods. It's only a matter of time now until this entire area is turned into ruins.

The air force strike has failed. They couldn't pierce the fortress's armor. We hope that a surface-based attack will work...but the unit defending the fortress has grown, making it difficult to approach now.

That said... We still have to do this. We'll use our few remaining forces to attack the walking fortress. Your first target will be to eliminate the defensive unit.

We're going to be the civilians' shield because that is our duty.

Mission Start

Sgt's Subordinate A: We were too late. There's no city left to save...
Sgt's Subordinate C: It is completely destroyed.
Sgt's Subordinate B: And the enemy has a massive army.
Spriggan Leader: We don't even have basic reinforcements.
Sergeant: But we can't just silently sit by and watch the world burn.
Spriggan Leader: I agree.
Sgt's Subordinate A: Their mobile base is on the move. They're headed to the next city.
Sgt's Subordinate B: They're not an enemy we can take on by ourselves. They have this many troops in their escort unit alone.
Sergeant: Let them crawl back to base. We'll take out the escort.
Sergeant: If we take out the escort, it leaves them vulnerable. Another team could go in later and finish off the mobile base.
Sgt's Subordinate B: So we're sacrificing ourselves?
Sergeant: If we don't take out this mobile base, they'll take over the planet.
Sergeant: Let's do this!
Sergeant: Don't attack the mobile base yet. We're gunning for the escort unit.

Soldier: Did you hear? Apparently the head of the lab ran off. That's how bad the situation has gotten.

(Annihilate all the enemies)
Sergeant: Let's follow that base.
Sgt's Subordinate C: You've worked plenty hard already. It's a miracle that you've survived.
Sgt's Subordinate A: If we can't take out the mobile base, humanity will be done for no matter what we do.
Sgt's Subordinate B: You know, this job isn't really worth the pay and benefits. I need a raise.
Spriggan Leader: Let's go.
Sergeant: Attack the remaining forces in the escort unit and approach the mobile base.

73 The Crumbling Town I

Mission Text

We've successfully eliminated a part of the defensive unit. Continue the operation and keep on following the walking fortress.

+ Title in EDF5 - With notes
101 Crumbling City

Note: The Mission Text in the Japanese version is also different from that in EDF5, so it won't be described here.

Mission Start

Sgt's Subordinate A: This direction should be correct.
Sgt's Subordinate B: We should be heading right for their mobile base. Doesn't it seem too quiet?
Sgt's Subordinate C: There's no escort unit. Something's off.

(The 1st wave of enemies appears)
Sergeant: There!
Sgt's Subordinate C: That building!
Sgt's Subordinate A: This must be a monster nest.
Sgt's Subordinate B: Those monsters look insane!
Spriggan Leader: We'll draw their attention.
Sergeant: They're fast, but that's it. Shoot them and they'll go down.
Spriggan Leader: They're the primary target. Get 'em!

(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Sgt's Subordinate A: The building is going down!
Sgt's Subordinate C: Monsters!
Sgt's Subordinate B: It's devouring the building!

(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Sgt's Subordinate A: Over there! The buildings are falling!
Sgt's Subordinate B: A monster that eats buildings. Things aren't looking good for us.

(The 4th wave of enemies appears)
Sergeant: Look at that building!
Sgt's Subordinate C: The monsters are just wolfing them down!
Sgt's Subordinate B: And look at their numbers!

(The 2nd wave of allies appears)
Grim Reaper Leader: This is Storm 3. Providing reinforcements.
Grim Reaper Leader: Looks like we're the only ones that made it in time.
Spriggan Leader: You're late. The party's already started.

(The 5th wave of enemies appears)
Sgt's Subordinate C: That building over there!
Sgt's Subordinate B: The building collapsed!
Sgt's Subordinate A: More monsters!

(Annihilate all the enemies)
Sergeant: Let's follow that base.
Grim Reaper Leader: The mobile base is being defended by an escort unit. It won't be easy to break through.
Spriggan Leader: How many of our troops will make it out alive? Only one way to find out.

74 Approaching the Fortress

Mission Text

Even our railguns weren't able to pierce the walking fortress's armor. Our only hope now is to have a ground unit attack it from below. We believe that it's unable to defend its teleportation device, just like a Teleportation Ship. If you can just make it to a spot directly under the walking fortress and take aim at the device from there...

Each team needs to break through the defensive network on their own route as they approach the walking fortress.

Mission Start

Sgt's Subordinate A: We're the only ones that made it.
Sgt's Subordinate B: That's because we're the only ones who could keep up with the chief.
Sgt's Subordinate C: 500 meters to the mobile base.
Sergeant: There are some remaining civilians in the enemy's path.
Spriggan Leader: We were gathered here today.
Grim Reaper Leader: This must be fate.
Sergeant: We lost a lot of our own just to get here. As the survivors, it's our duty to get the job done.
Sergeant: We could slow them down. We could at least manage that.

(Join the Sergeant's Team)
Sergeant: I'm sorry that I got you all involved.

(Join the Grim Reaper Team)
Grim Reaper Leader: Our opponent won't go down easily. Let's go out with a bang.

(Join the Spriggan Team)
Spriggan Leader: It has been a true honor to fight alongside you."

Sergeant: Stick to the plan!
Sergeant: We're going to sneak under the mobile base fortifications. It's dangerous, but it's the only way.
Sgt's Subordinate A: It's all or nothing!
Sgt's Subordinate B: Your plans are insane, Chief!
Sergeant: Look for a weak spot in their fortifications! There should be an area that's not shielded by the gold armor.

Major: There appear to be multiple cannons on the underside of the base.
Sergeant: The cannons are preventing us from getting in close.
Headquarters: Aim for the cannons. Take them out.

Headquarters: Destroy their cannons.

(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: It's Aggressive Alien Species Beta!
Major: There is a spot that is unshielded. Attack the shining area.
Headquarters: Wait for the hatch to open and then shoot inside!
Headquarters: Shoot the shining area!

Soldier: 23 here. Engaging the aliens. Getting bogged down here. We won't make it in time for the plan!

Soldier: This is 26. We've suffered major casualties. Now retreating back to base.

Soldier: Super 8 here. The drones have us stopped in our tracks. We can't make it to the target area.
Headquarters: Damn! The exoskeletons won't move.

(Damage to the Outpost Base)
Sergeant: Look! That spot has no shields!

(Damage to the Outpost Base)
Headquarters: All right! That was a direct hit on the base.

(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: The Fortress is launching drones!

(Spriggan Leader dies)
Major: Spriggan here. The signal's jammed.

(The 4th wave of enemies appears)
Headquarters: Androids are coming from the base.
Headquarters: Wipe out that army of Androids.

(Grim Reaper Leader dies)
Major: Grim Reaper reporting. Experiencing signal disruption.

(The 5th wave of enemies appears)
Headquarters: Kruuls are coming.
Sgt's Subordinate A: It's the enemy escort unit!

(The Sergeant dies)
Major: The sergeant is down!

(Damage to the Outpost Base)
Major: If they lose this base, it will be a major setback in the aliens' plan for global domination. It's a glimmer of hope for us.

(Destroy the Outpost Base)
Major: That's the first time we've destroyed a base. We'll send our data to headquarters at once.
Major: Of course, your name and deeds will be included in the records. As the hero you are.

Destroyed mobile base,
barely preventing a major enemy offensive.

75 Base 251 †††††††

Mission Text

Request for reinforcements from Base 251. Head in their direction immediately.

Mission Start

Professor: You kept me waiting. Don't worry me like that.

Professor: You just got here, huh?
Professor: Well, you made it just in time.

Professor: Let's go.

Professor: Everyone was convinced that the Primer had come from space, but that's not it. They came from the future. It's why they suddenly appeared above orbit, breaking the barriers of time.

(Arrive at the room)
Professor: Here. Come this way.

(Approach each soldier)
Soldier: It's too late. There's nothing we can do at this point.

Soldier: If they're sending people like me to fight, that means all hope is already lost.

Soldier: They're calling for you.

Soldier: We don't have to fight. It's already too late to win.

Soldier: I was forced to come here. What good could a civilian like me do on a battlefield?

Soldier: This is the situation we're in. Accept that reality.

(Arrive at destination)
Professor: You made it out alive.
Professor: Do you have any idea how relieved I am?
Professor: And you were on the front lines the whole time? I can't believe you survived.
Professor: It was horrific. Those bastards have no mercy.
Professor: I evacuated with my family, but we were attacked by monsters.
Professor: I alone survived and...I'm back here again.
Professor: Don't worry, I've made up my mind.
Professor: The captain has arrived. Let's talk later. We'll have time.
Captain: Gather around, scum! Line up!

(Late to line up)
Captain: Quit dragging your asses!

Captain: Hurry up and get in line!

Captain: You idiots can't even line up right!

(Arrive at destination)
Professor: It's a big mistake to assume that you're a new recruit.
Captain: All right.
Captain: This is Base 251.
Captain: Here we are currently dealing with a major issue.
Captain: A personnel shortage.

(Alert activation)
Captain: What?!
Soldier: Invaders have breached the base!
Captain: Arm yourselves!
Captain: Invaders!

(Scene Changes)

Captain: The base is under attack. Come with me if you want to live. You must fight.
Captain: Commencing counterattack!
Captain: Run!
Captain: Go! Go! Go!
Soldier: So they've finally found our base.
Soldier: They're going to send a massive army.
Captain: Over here! Come on!

Professor: I lost my wife. Again. No matter what I do, I lose her.
Professor: I abandoned my family. I ran away, and that's why I'm here now. I can't die. As long as I'm alive, I can right my wrongs. I still have hope.

(Arrive at destination)
Professor: It's all right. It took three years to recover. But it's all right now.

(The 1st wave of enemies appears and a gate opens)
Soldier: Kruuls!
Soldier: They're trying to take over the base!
Captain: Authorized personnel only! Get out of here!
Captain: If you don't leave now, I'll shoot!

(Join the Captain's Team)
Captain: New recruits, follow me!

(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Android approaching!

Soldier: The Androids are trying to take over the base.
Captain: You lot disgust me! I'll teach you some manners!

Captain: You damn cyborgs! Go back to where you came from!

(Eliminate the enemies)
Captain: Phew. Take a deep breath. Our job ain't over yet.

(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: It's a High Mobility Android!

Soldier: There are too many of them! We should abandon the base and get outta here!
Captain: No! This is our home! Defend it at all costs!

(Annihilate all the enemies)

76 Standard Mission II

Mission Text

We're cracking down on some enemy invaders. We're keeping the town safe, because that's our job.

Mission Start

Captain: Defend the city! Let's go!

(The gate opens)
Captain: Drive out the invaders!
Captain: You know the rules. If you see one of those bastards-- shoot it!
Soldier: The Kruuls have finally made it this far. This is bad.
Soldier: The demons have set their sights on us. We're done for.

(Battle begins)
Captain: Make them regret ever showing their ugly faces in this city!
Captain: Go back to your home planet. We won't let you stay here.
Captain: Damn invaders! Leave, already!
Captain: Defend the city!

(Eliminate the enemies)

Professor: My wife was against my involvement in weapons development. She was a kind woman.

Soldier: We sure have some terrible neighbors. I don't wanna fight.
Soldier: Our enemies are demons, all right. I'm sure they aren't looking to hold hands.
Captain: These invaders are real assholes. Let's do this.

(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: We're barely holding the front lines. How long can we hold out?
Soldier: We sacrificed so much. But we made it this far.
Soldier: Some say the aliens are demons. Can we win against an enemy like that?
Soldier: They must be terrified. And fear leads to madness.
Captain: Humanity pushed the aliens back, and we're still fighting. All thanks to EDF.

(Battle begins)
Captain: Send them straight to hell!

(Eliminate the enemies)

Captain: Good work.
Captain: Life as a soldier is tough, huh? This too shall pass. It'll all be over soon.
Soldier: Kruuls detected.

(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Captain: Let's dance. We're not giving up this city.
Captain: You can call them gods, but you can't fool me. They're just invader scum.
Soldier: They're trying to be Earthlings. Ha, what a joke.
Soldier: Those who defy the demons are cursed. You should take that back.
Captain: I don't like 'em. They act like they're better than us.

(Battle begins)
Soldier: Kruuls!
Captain: Demons, monsters, whatever! You're nothing but filthy invaders! Be gone!

Captain: Humanity has not lost! We will not fall!

(Eliminate the enemies)
Soldier: You can call them demons, but they still die like mortals. Just like we do.
Soldier: Yeah. But don't underestimate them. They're responsible for the destruction of Earth.
Captain: They're attacking us according to some kind of plan. They're not as dumb as they look.
Soldier: Unidentified object approaching. Are those Kruuls?!

(The 4td wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Did you ever imagine a future like this? That demons would descend upon Earth and try to wipe out humanity?
Soldier: I'm used to it now. This is our reality.

Soldier: Look! A dropship!
Soldier: Enemy Kruuls incoming!

(Destroy the Kruuls)
Soldier: Massive flying object detected! It's alive!
Captain: Impossible! Is it really them?!

(Destroy the Kruuls)
Soldier: That flying object is thought to be a Siren.
Soldier: Great. Just great.
Captain: Humankind's mortal enemy. Let's settle this rivalry once and for all.

(The 5th wave of enemy appears)
Soldier: Sirens approaching.
Soldier: Winged monsters are coming!
Captain: They're just birds! Shoot them down!
Captain: Don't let those birds leave without making them pay!

Soldier: They're huge! Like mountains with wings!
Soldier: They're an enemy that can't be taken down with missiles. Impossible for us to deal with.
Captain: Fear nothing, including those damned birds! Exterminate them!

(Sufficient damage on Siren or some time has passed)
Captain: Invading bird freaks! Get out! Leave!
Captain: Humanity has not lost! We will not fall!

(Annihilate all the enemies)
Captain: Good job!
Captain: It's gotten dangerous around here. Even this city.

77 Visitors II

Mission Text

Looks like we've got invaders. It's time to crack down on them. You'll be patrolling the town while you're at it. I don't care how many times you've done this before, though. Don't get sloppy.

Mission Start

Captain: Intruders. Find and destroy them.
Captain: They're hiding around the city. Be careful.

Professor: Some call me naturally brilliant, but they couldn't be more wrong. I've just spent countless times more hours thinking than they have.

(Battle begins)
Soldier: I saw an Alien!
Captain: I'll show them who's boss!
Soldier: Humanity's not gonna give up!

(Eliminate the enemies)
Soldier: Humanity has grown weak. I don't know if we can go any further...
Soldier: Of course we're weak. We're facing demonic forces.
Soldier: They want to end our world, but we're gonna survive. We will.

(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: It's Kruul. Kruul are invading.
Captain: Evil demons! I'm gonna kick your asses!

Soldier: Brave men are crying in fear because of how those things look.
Soldier: They're not fighting fair.
Soldier: Humanity can't win this fight.

Soldier: Kruul sighted.

(Battle begins, and the 2nd wave of allies appears)
Captain: You evil demons! I'll teach you a lesson!
Soldier: I'm not afraid of no Kruul!
Captain: This is our planet! Go back to wherever you came from, demonic bastards!

Soldier: Those are Powered Exoskeletons.
Soldier: The exterminators have arrived!
Exterminator: Leave it to those of us with Powered Exoskeletons.
Exterminator: We'll show you how strong we really are.

(The Ring appears)
Soldier: The radar's acting up! What's going on?!

Soldier: Whoa! Look at the sky!
Soldier: No way, no how, it can't be...
Soldier: What was that?
Soldier: A spaceship. The Primers' army is back.
Soldier: It's huge! An aircraft carrier? No, it's like a mobile base...
Captain: A base for their attacks on earth. Goddamn Primers.
Soldier: Why's it shaped like that?
Soldier: Wait, wait wait! This can't be happening again, not now!
Soldier: So now they're ready to get serious? You gotta be kidding.
Soldier: A military base that floats in the sky. So they're gonna attack again?
Soldier: What's humanity supposed to do now? We're done for.

(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Kruul are gathering in this area.
Captain: What the hell?
Captain: So they're trying to reach that huge flying object? Well, we won't let them.
Captain: We're taking back this planet from those vile demons!
Soldier: It's dangerous under the ship. Retreat.
Soldier: They must have some unknown weapon. Something that can destroy us all.
Captain: It might not be a weapon.
Captain: They're planning something, but they won't have their way. I'm gonna figure out what they're trying to do.

(The 4th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: The Kruul are heading for the flying object.
Captain: Damn Kruul. They plan to seal off the area.
Captain: Those demons are trying to seal off this area to protect the huge flying object. Not on my watch.
Soldier: But the flying thing is too big. There's nothing we can do.

(The 5th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Kruul are here!
Captain: Demonic hellspawn! I don't know where you came from, but you're going right back!

(The Large Spaceships appear)

Soldier: Something's here again!
Soldier: It's a ship of Kruul.
Soldier: They're gathering together. A fleet of ships.
Captain: What are they trying to start?

(Annihilate all the enemies)
Soldier: Hey, look! A huge spaceship!
Captain: So they're trying to start something after all.
Soldier: What's that light?

(The Large Spaceships disappear)
Soldier: It's gone! The ship disappeared!
Soldier: How could something so big just up and disappear?
Captain: Did they sacrifice their own ship? Have they lost their minds?
Soldier: Enemy ship, gone! Where did it go?

Professor: It's definitely a time machine. They sent the ship to the past.
Professor: They're changing history, sending additional forces to the past... And the ship has intel, too. Now the Primers in the past know everything that will happen in the future.
Professor: So the Primers knew what would happen. There's no way humanity can win now. They know what cards we're gonna play, so they're changing their hand to win. The odds are stacked in their favor. Cheating in the worst way.
Professor: We lost the majority of our nuclear weapons in the surprise attack when the war started. It was very odd. The location of our missiles is classified information. They attacked underground bunkers I didn't even know existed... There's only one explanation. Their first attack led to nuclear war. So they adapted. They sent the missile locations to the past so they could destroy them at the outset of the war.
Professor: That ship must've drastically changed the war. That's how they fight. They just keep changing history until it goes the way they want...until they achieve complete and utter victory.

78 The Next Day II

Mission Text

You'd better stay sharp. We're the only ones defending this town. I don't care what happens...we're surviving this.

Mission Start

Corporal: Anyway through the northern corridor? There should be an untouched supply room there.
Lieutenant: Negative. It's completely collapsed. There's no way through there.
Corporal: We're running low on rations. We need that food.
Lieutenant: Yes, I know.
Corporal: We'll go from the surface. If we approach from the coastline, it'll be only 300 meters.
Lieutenant: That sounds like a terrible plan. We'll all die if we head up to the surface.
Professor: Corporal, there's no need for heroics.

(Alert activation)
Soldier: There they are!
Lieutenant: Let's go!
Lieutenant: Ready arms.
Corporal: Roger that!
Lieutenant: Do not forget how many lives are in our hands. There are 300 civilians down below. We can't fail!

(The 1st wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Dammit! They're here!
Soldier: They finally decided to make an appearance.
Lieutenant: They can't enter underground. Most likely robots.

(Battle begins)
Soldier: It's a digging bot!
Soldier: What the hell is it doing here?!
Soldier: It's an Excavator. Their job is to dig deep into the surface.
Soldier: Son of a gun. They're like moles!
Lieutenant: It's better than facing the alternative. Make quick work of it!

Soldier: Nothing's working! They're protected by armor!
Soldier: This ain't good! They're too strong!
Soldier: An Excavator's outer shell deflects bullets! Don't just shoot them all willy-nilly!
Lieutenant: They open their shell when attacking. That's when they are most vulnerable!
Lieutenant: Wait til their outer shell opens!
Lieutenant: Their weakness is within their shells. When they open up, that's our chance!

(Eliminate the enemies)
Lieutenant: Excavators--digging bots--I knew this day would come...
Soldier: I can't believe they're coming after us underground...

(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: There are some here!
Lieutenant: Let's go!
Professor: It really is just like the history that we know. The Primer should be altering the timeline. But when did it happen, and how?

(Battle begins)
Soldier: Be careful! They can burrow into the Earth's surface!
Soldier: A natural enemy because we live underground!
Lieutenant: It's better than facing the alternative. Make quick work of it!
Soldier: So they've finally discovered us here.

Soldier: I can't hit them!
Soldier: Their bodies are flat!
Lieutenant: They're thin as ice! Aim carefully!

(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Over here! This way!
Soldier: Dammit! There's still some left!
Soldier: This place has been outed. Those digging bots are out to kill us.
Lieutenant: It's better than fighting the ones above. Take down every bot you see.
Soldier: Which is better, the underground or the sea?
Soldier: Yeah, I know.
Professor: A giant spacecraft-like object was discovered under the surface of the moon. An eleventh Mothership. It's likely their command module. We've found our enemy's weakness at last. We can win this battle if only we could destroy it, but humanity doesn't have the power to do that right now.
Professor: We've discovered the enemy's command module, but all we can do is look at it. Humanity is so powerless.

(Battle begins)
Soldier: Damn robot! You won't get away with this!
Soldier: What in the world! These wafers move like rats!

(Eliminate the enemies)
Soldier: A flat-bodied robot, huh?
Lieutenant: They're designed to move between surfaces, whether it's bedrock or rubble. How troublesome.
Lieutenant: There should be more. Find 'em and destroy them all.

(The 4th wave of enemies appears)

(Join the Lieutenant Team)
Lieutenant: Take the lead. You're more experienced than us.

Soldier: Have you seen anything like them before?
Soldier: Yeah, but just the thought sends shivers down my spine. I will never go to the surface.
Soldier: I suppose they are now the overlords of Earth.
Soldier: I would have never believed that the Mermen would rule over the seas three years ago.

(Battle begins, 1st time)
Soldier: Excavator sighted!
Soldier: Where in the world are they coming from?
Soldier: This is our home! Leave at once!

(Battle begins, 2nd time)
Soldier: Over there!
Lieutenant: If they get to the settlement it's all over! Stop those things!

(Battle begins, 3rd time)
Soldier: There are some here, too!
Soldier: Where are they coming from?
Soldier: Trespasser! Go back to the sea!

(The nth wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: There are more above!
Soldier: Enemies are coming outta this hole!
Lieutenant: Show them no fear! Exterminate them all!

(Eliminate the nth wave of enemies)
Soldier: Did we do it?
Soldier: Nice!

(The nth wave of enemies appears)
Lieutenant: No, not yet!
Lieutenant: This way!

(Destroy some enemies)
Soldier: I was not expecting to see them all the way here.
Soldier: They move between tight spaces. There isn't anywhere they can't reach.
Soldier: So they were made to eliminate humans who went underground?
Lieutenant: A bona fide killing machine. They'll destroy us all.

Soldier: Robots that move under the surface? I guess we really have nowhere to hide.
Soldier: If an underground bot finds us, that's it. Residential quarters will disappear. Even this place...

Professor: Time's running out. We have to go to the surface and search for the Ring.

Professor: Timing is everything. One mistake and we're done for. Ngh, there goes my ulcer again.

Soldier: So they've found their way underground. Truly merciless...
Soldier: They don't plan on letting a single one of us live.
Lieutenant: Find any remnant enemies.

Lieutenant: A bot has discovered this place. They'll be sending their big guns here.
Soldier: Why do they want to kill us so bad?
Soldier: They may already be digging a hole from above.
Lieutenant: They won't go down that easily.
Professor: We've run out of time. We must execute the plan.

(Annihilate all the enemies)
Corporal: We need rations. I'll head to the surface.
Lieutenant: Wait! You'll die if you go out there!
Corporal: We're quite a ways from the sea. I'll be fine.
Lieutenant: I gotta say, thing's ain't lookin' too bright.
Lieutenant: The surface belongs to the Mermen. You'd be dead on sight.

79 World Gone Mad I

Mission Text

We can't just abandon them. We're going to rescue the corporal.

It's dangerous there on the surface. Find the corporal, then pull back immediately. Don't get distracted by food.

Mission Start

Lieutenant: Quiet. They'll find us.
Lieutenant: Do not flinch if you see them. Fear will lead to death.
Soldier: The Earth is controlled by the Mermen. We are only alive because they allow us to be.
Lieutenant: Calm down! Don't panic!

Lieutenant: We're far from the sea. I'll manage.
Soldier: The Mermen of the deep. Pray I don't see one.
Soldier: A merman...
Soldier: This ain't no fairy tale, that's a fishman!

(Scylla switchs to attack mode)
Soldier: Gills...? It's the Fishmen!
Soldier: What are they doing all the way here?
Soldier: Seriously? We're nowhere close to the sea!

Soldier: Look!
Corporal: Help!

Lieutenant: Fishmen aren't immortal! Gun them down!

Soldier: They're about to attack!
Soldier: They plan to crush us!

Soldier: They're coming from this way, too!
Soldier: Look out!

(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Incoming mermen!
Soldier: Fishmen are here!
Soldier: I don't have a death wish. Let's return underground!
Lieutenant: That would lead them straight to us! If they find the underground city, it's game over!
Soldier: I shouldn't have come to the surface! I'm going back underground!
Lieutenant: They won't even let you run. It's do or die, team!
Lieutenant: If you want to go home, defeat the Mermen!

Professor: The accident takes place a week from now. In that moment on that day, we'll attack the time machine, the same accident will occur, and time will be rewound. Time won't proceed any further so long as we keep doing this. We'll have essentially trapped the Primer in a cage of time. It doesn't matter how strong they are, the day they're victorious will never come so long as time doesn't move forward.
Professor: That said, they continue to revise history. It seems they keep on changing the situation just as we keep returning to the past. At some point, it's going to get so bad that there's nothing we can do about it. Time won't rewind if we die before the day of the accident, and when that happens, humanity is done for.

(Annihilate all the enemies)
Lieutenant: You survived. Lady Luck must be on your side.
Professor: We always resurface to look for the Ring. After accessing the operating sensor, we can determine its location.
Professor: It was a bigger miscalculation than I thought. It'll take some time to detect it. We've just got to survive up here until then.

(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: We've confirmed a large number of fishmen.
Soldier: Fishmen are flooding into the city.
Lieutenant: Excuse me?!
Soldier: Watch out! Fishmen!
Soldier: There are some here!

Mission Cleared

80 Banquet of the Water God

Mission Text

Don't give up. Just run. There has to be a safe location, I'm sure of it.

Listen to me closely. You need to fear that poison mist that the Fishmen emit most of all. If you do encounter one, get as much distance from it as you can.

Mission Start

Corporal: Did we lose them?
Lieutenant: No such luck. There are a few here, too.
Lieutenant: Turning back is certain death. Keep moving forward!
Corporal: Look at all this mist...
Professor: This mist is a sign that those things are around.
Professor: It forms from the moisture released from their skin.
Lieutenant: They use it to blind their prey during the hunt. They've gotten so many of us with this...
Corporal: It would be risky to go any further.
Lieutenant: Use the mist to your advantage. Use it as cover for our escape.
Professor: What you do need to avoid is any colored mist. They can also secrete poison, so don't get caught in it or you'll get hurt.
Lieutenant: Don't shoot if you don't have to. Just pass through without getting noticed.

Lieutenant: Eggs. There must be monsters around.
Professor: The monsters have completely polluted the area since we abandoned the surface.
Corporal: The surface is done for.
Lieutenant: Don't piss off any monsters. Let's go.
Lieutenant: We're not here to eliminate monsters. Our goal is only to survive.

(Battle begins)
Corporal: There they are!

(Destroy Scylla)
Corporal: We did it. We managed to survive.
Lieutenant: It's too early to relax. The gunshots will surely attract more to this location.
Professor: We should leave immediately. Let's go.

(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Corporal: We can't just keep running. As long as they roam the surface, they will kill us one day.
Professor: Base 251 is nearby. We should hide out there.
Lieutenant: Show the way, Prof.

Corporal: There are too many eggs. This path is too dangerous.
Lieutenant: Then we'll go around.
Professor: Here.
Corporal: Base 251 was abandoned. Is it even intact?
Professor: There should be remnant survivors. Hopefully we can solicit their help.
Corporal: How do you know that?
Lieutenant: Don't get your hopes up. The soldiers on that base... They're most likely dead.

(Battle begins)
Corporal: They're here!
Lieutenant: There's no guarantee we'll lose them. Let's stand our ground.
Lieutenant: Fight to clear a path!

Corporal: Humanity lost a decisive battle to the Mermen. That's when everything changed.
Lieutenant: We fought the Fishmen for years and lost, so we had to give up. They could have the sea, and we would have to live underground.
Corporal: Those damn mermen stole the seas from us.

(Eliminate the enemies)

(The allied NPCs reach a specific position)
Professor: Hurry to the base. It's right over there.

(If the Player is far away from the allied NPCs)
Lieutenant: Are there really survivors here?

Lieutenant: There's no need to stick around. Let's head out.

Corporal: Come on, let's go. We'll be dead meat if we stay here.

Lieutenant: Where'd you go? Fall in now!

Lieutenant: Get back here. It's dangerous to go alone.

(Glaukos appears)
Lieutenant: What's that sound?
Professor: Don't tell me...
Corporal: Look! It's a Glaukos!
Lieutenant: Don't agitate it. We're dead if it attacks.
Professor: Let's hurry to the nearby base.

(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Lieutenant: Is the enemy is swarming because of the Glaukos?
Professor: The Fishmen tend to gather where Glaukos do. This may very well be the most dangerous place on the surface of the planet.
Corporal: We've gotta get outta here.
Corporal: A monster that coexists with the Fishmen is...just terrifying. If only we could have prevented this from happening...
Lieutenant: Humanity practically orchestrated all of this. We have no one else to blame but ourselves.

Professor: We've located the Ring. Mission accomplished. Now we just have to get back in one piece.

(Battle begins)
Lieutenant: Over there! Shoot 'em!

Captain: You fools are being too reckless on the surface. Hang tight--backup is on its way.

(The 2nd wave of allies appears)
Captain: I've got your back!

Captain: Come this way!

Captain: What do you think you're doing? You have a death wish?!

Captain: You going on a rampage here of all places? Give me a break!

Captain: Dammit! Exterminate them before returning to base!

Captain: Eliminate them and secure the base!

Lieutenant: I never imagined survivors at the base.

(Destroy the Scyllas)
Corporal: The mist cleared up.

(Destroy all the Scyllas)

(If the battle with the monsters continues)
Lieutenant: There are monsters here. But compared to the others...

(Destroy the monsters, or eliminate all Scyllas before the Captain finishes his lines)
Professor: Get back safely, then head for the Ring. The time has come.

(Annihilate all the enemies)
Lieutenant: There are civilians underground. We've got to get back.
Captain: Go after you take a break. You'll have backup.
Professor: We don't have much time. Use Tunnel 2 to get right under the Ring and attack.
