81 Tunnel #2
Mission Text
We're recreating that accident, which means we need to be in the same place at the same time. We're heading right under the Ring.
The surface is treacherous, though. We'll approach the Ring via underground passages. Our investigations show that the tunnels are linked to holes dug by the monsters. We should be able to come up near the Ring if we just make use of those.
Mission Start
Lieutenant: But anyone who gets near the Ring dies. Isn't there some other way?
Professor: We can approach the Ring from underground. As long as we have backup, we should be fine.
Lieutenant: Fine. But we can't follow you up to the surface.
Professor: That's fine. I know you'll back us up.
Lieutenant: This way won't be easy. Looks like there's a monster nest at the end of the tunnel.
(Battle begins)
Soldier: Look!
Lieutenant: A monster's snuck in!
Soldier: If even the underground's this bad, there's no way we can surface!
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
(Eliminate the enemies)
Soldier: To think I'd see monsters here...
Professor: It would've been trouble if it made it into the city.
Lieutenant: I'm just glad we exterminated it before it came to that.
Lieutenant: Alright, let's move it on up.
Professor: No matter how long I live, my love for my wife is the one thing keeping me going.
(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
(Battle begins)
Soldier: A monster!
Soldier: It came in through the hole.
Lieutenant: Fire!
(Eliminate the enemies)
Lieutenant: There are more monsters than I thought. If they've made it all the way here, we'll have to exterminate them.
(The 4th wave of enemies appears)
Lieutenant: This hole. Is this it?
Soldier: It's not one of our tunnels.
Professor: It was dug by the monsters and connects to the tunnel. It leads up to the surface.
Lieutenant: How is it you know that?
Professor: Monsters will use caves and tunnels to build nests. This one is still in the making. They need an outlet to the surface to dump soil and rocks.
Lieutenant: The monsters' nest is up ahead. Stay on your toes.
Professor: It would probably be wise to assume it'll be more dangerous than the survey we did before.
Lieutenant: Right. You heard him, stay alert.
(The 5th wave of enemies appears)
Professor: Do take care of what's above you.
Soldier: Watch out! Above us!
Soldier: They're coming through a hole up above!
Soldier: It's the robots! They're here!
Professor: Robots?! That's rather odd.
Soldier: I didn't expect to see robots here!
Soldier: If we let them get to the underground city, we're done for!
Lieutenant: Destroy the bots! Protect the civilians in the city!
Professor: Impossible... This isn't how I remember it.
Professor: History is being altered bit by bit.
Professor: Even the flap of a butterfly's wings can cause a storm. The smallest miscalculation may change the course of history.
(Eliminate the enemies)
Lieutenant: We're going the right way, right?
Professor: Yeah, I think so.
Soldier: Attacking the Ring sounds crazy. The minute you step outside you'll be swarmed.
Professor: All we need to do is get close to it. I'll do the rest.
Soldier: It's your life on the line.
Lieutenant: We shouldn't stop. Let's move.
(The 6th wave of enemies appears)
(Battle begins)
Soldier: Androids! Watch out!
Lieutenant: Dammit! Destroy them!
Soldier: Why would they chase us underground?! Damn stalkers!
Lieutenant: Destroy them if you want to live!
(Eliminate the enemies)
Lieutenant: So they'll even follow us underground now.
Lieutenant: They hunt us relentlessly. What on Earth is driving them to kill humans like this?
Soldier: Why are they out to kill us? What have we ever done to them? Just leave us alone already!
Soldier: They must really hate us humans.
Professor: There must be a reason. There has to be...
Lieutenant: There's no point sticking around. Forward march.
(The 7th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: I'm glad they were regular Androids. The armored models would have destroyed us.
Soldier: Armored Androids? I've heard the rumors.
(Battle begins)
Soldier: There are Androids here, too!
(The 8th wave of enemies appears)
Lieutenant: They're coming from the depths of the tunnel.
Soldier: It's just one after another!
Captain: To all survivors. We are attacking the Ring today. Those who can fight, please join our operation.
Captain: I repeat. Those who can fight, please join our operation.
(Eliminate the enemies)
Soldier: You mean there are other survivors?
Lieutenant: I thought we were the only survivors in the area.
Soldier: Attacking the Ring? That's nuts.
Lieutenant: I'll join the operation, but it's too reckless. There's no way it'll succeed.
Professor: Today is the day. I'm sure of it.
Professor: We must get to the Ring.
Lieutenant: The lot of you are too impulsive. Does your life mean nothing to you?
Professor: It has to be done.
(The 9th wave of enemies appears)
Professor: Right here! This is our target!
Professor: We can resurface from here.
(Battle begins)
Soldier: Something big's there!
Lieutenant: Large Androids!
(The 10th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Enemy attack! From above!
Lieutenant: Those brutes got to the underground through here!
Soldier: Grenadiers! There are grenadiers here
Soldier: It's a large group of grenadiers!
Soldier: Fire! Don't let them get close!
Soldier: They've even sent these things down for us!
Lieutenant: They're searching our secret hideout! Destroy them!
Lieutenant: Shoot them before they close the distance!
(The 11th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Look! Digging bots!
Soldier: They're coming out of the holes on that cliff!
Lieutenant: Stay alert! Digging bots inbound!
(Annihilate all the enemies)
Lieutenant: Seems we clean up pretty well.
Professor: All right. You're on your own from here.
Lieutenant: Sure you won't reconsider this plan?
Professor: I'll be back. Thank you so much, Lieutenant.

Mission Text
To all survivors. We are attacking the Ring today. Those who can fight, please join our operation.
Mission Start
Captain: Guess this is all humanity's got. But we won't stop.
Captain: Those Primers don't think humanity will fight back again.
Captain: Think of this as our last chance. Humanity's final counterattack.
Professor: So you survived. You just don't give up.
Professor: But today is the day. Time to destroy that device.
(Join the Captain Team)
Captain: Looks like you heard my call. Let's show them how stubborn humanity can be.
Captain: The Ring's protected by the Mermen. Take them out as you advance.
Professor: You can't see it from here, but there's a glowing red device directly under the Ring.
Professor: Head to the spot under the Ring.
Professor: Not that I need to tell you what to do. But this is part of my routine, so just let me speak.
Professor: The Primer must not expect us to be going back in time. There's no way for them to know about this place, either. In fact, the accident hasn't even happened yet because we've gone back. Not even the Primer will be able to know about an accident that hasn't taken place. We're the only ones aware of the fact that the time machine will be destroyed today.
(The 2nd wave of allies appears)
Lieutenant: Shit! So many idiots. It's like they're trying to get killed.
Lieutenant: Divert their attention! That's all we need to do!
Lieutenant: I'm here for backup. Don't let your life go to waste.
(Join the Lieutenant Team)
Lieutenant: Shit! I don't know how I ended up like this.
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Look! The Ring!
Soldier: Something's coming out!
Soldier: A hand! It just sprouted a hand!
Lieutenant: What IS that? The Ring's weapon or something?
Captain: Gross! Shoot it! Cut that thing off!
Soldier: They're coming in for the attack!
Soldier: That's a cannon?
Captain: Destroy that cannon!
Professor: A defensive device used by the Ring. Who knew.
Professor: It's the first time I've seen this. We've got them playing defense. They're scared of us.
Captain: We can't get close as long as that cannon is intact. Destroy it!
Professor: Get in right under the ring. Attack the glowing red device.
(Destroy some Ring Cannons)
Soldier: Did you see that?!
Soldier: We took out the cannon!
Soldier: But it's moving! We busted it, but the part that's left is still moving!
Lieutenant: What the hell's with this cannon?! It keeps shooting without the part we blasted off!
Professor: Incredible. It doesn't shut down even after a portion of it is lost.
Captain: Then we know what to do! Destroy the whole thing!
(Destroy some Ring Cannons)
Captain: Woohoo! We've got a real pro on our side!
(Destroy some Ring Cannons)
Soldier: Destroyed another one!
(In the HARDEST and above difficulty level, the 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Lieutenant: The cannon reappeared!
Captain: It regenerated again? Then, I'll chop it off!
Professor: It can't keep coming back forever. Next time it'll be gone for good.
(Eliminate the 2nd wave of enemies)
Professor: This is our chance. Go directly beneath the Ring. Attack the red part.
(Damage to the Ring device)
Professor: You hit the mark.
Soldier: Lots of enemies are showing up!
Soldier: What the hell happened?!
Professor: Nothing has changed. Keep going.
Professor: If we simultaneously destroy the device, we should be able to recreate the accident.
Professor: If we simultaneously destroy the device, we should be able to recreate the accident.
Professor: A little slippage seems to be occurring. I hope this works...
(Destroy the Ring device)
Captain: What the hell is that!
Soldier: What's going on? Something's not right!
Lieutenant: The enemy's trying to do something! Get away!
Captain: We're in danger here! Run!
Professor: The same. Success.
This cascade of light...
It's the same.
But...
Something's definitely off.

Mission Start
Headquarters: Attack the monsters and stop the disaster from spreading!
Sgt's Subordinate B: So, the war has begun.
Sgt's Subordinate C: Those things are attacking the city.
Sgt's Subordinate A: People here are all civilians. We can't just let those monsters attack them.
Headquarters: Sergeant, perfect timing! Please support us. There's no time to waste. We must minimize the casualties.
Sergeant: I see. We will join the fight.
Sgt's Subordinate C: Damn! There's no time for rest.
Sgt's Subordinate B: Is anywhere safe?
Sergeant: All we can do is fight. Protect the civilians!
Soldier: Which freaking country made these weapons?
Soldier: How could anyone create those horrible things? I'll find out who's behind all this horrible stuff and teach the guy a lesson!
Soldier: If only they were created by man...
Sergeant: Destroy the pylons before they ruin the city.
Sgt's Subordinate A: The city will be doomed if we don't destroy the pylons!
Sergeant: Looks like it's not safe here, either.
Sergeant: I promise I will take you to a safe place this time after we deal with the pylons.
Headquarters: Sergeant, thank you for your support.
Sergeant: Please tell me, when will we start a counterattack?
Headquarters: This is an unimaginably serious situation, sergeant. The whole world is under a coordinated attack. We have our hands full.
Sergeant: You're saying the attack is serious enough to trigger a response from an organization as large as the EDF.
Headquarters: Sergeant, move with tanks. They can block off the acid from the monsters. Once the monsters get close, move with the tanks.
(Destroy the Teleportation Anchor in front)
Headquarters: Tanks, move out.
Headquarters: The tanks will support the infantry.
(Destroy the Teleportation Anchor on the right)
Headquarters: Good. Keep it up.
Headquarters: Destroy the pylons. Attack the top part.
Major: This is the Strategic Intelligence Division. We will support you in the combat.
Headquarters: Thanks you for the support.
Major: Based on the falling trajectories of the pylons, we have determined the location of the gigantic ship.
Headquarters: So that's the ship that deploys those pylons.
Major: It is flying above the combat area now. It may deploy pylons. Please be on high alert to the sky.
(If the Player does not stay in the designated location)
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Blacker Crew: Up there!
Blacker Crew: AAAAHHHHH!
(If the Player stays in the designated location)
Blacker Crew: All vehicles, halt!
Blacker Crew: There's someone up ahead!
Blacker Crew: There's a civilian in our path!
Blacker Crew: You're in the way! Clear the road!
Blacker Crew: Hey, move it! The hell are you doing?!
Blacker Crew: What's with this civilian?
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Blacker Crew: Up there!
Blacker Crew: Ahhh!
Blacker Crew: It's a pylon! A pylon fell!
Blacker Crew: That was close. If we hadn't stopped, we'd have been crushed.
Blacker Crew: We nearly bit the dust. We got lucky.
Blacker Crew: We have that civilian to thank for that.
Blacker Crew: Were they trying to save us...? There's no way...
Sgt's Subordinate B: Crap! Who the hell is behind all this?
Sergeant: Destroy the pylons before they cause more damage!
Headquarters: The helicopter squad will arrive soon. Ground troops, hold your ground before they are here.
Helicopter Pilot: This is Eagle 1. We are being attacked by UFOs.
Helicopter Pilot: There are so many. They outnumber us tenfold!
Helicopter Pilot: Abort attack and leave the combat area.
Civilian: I saw monsters! My friend was eaten! Please send someone over!
Civilian: Help us! Monsters! There're monsters outside my home!
Helicopter Pilot: It's hopeless. They took us all out.
Helicopter Pilot: We are hit! Prepare for crash landing! Hold tight!
(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Sgt's Subordinate A: Look!
Sgt's Subordinate C: Pylons are crashing down!
Major: This is the Strategic Intelligence Division. The gigantic ship is descending. It might be heading to the combat area.
Headquarters: What did you say!?
Major: The estimated time of arrival is... Wait, it can't be! It is already near ground level.
Soldier: What IS that?!
Soldier: Robots!
Headquarters: What the hell are these things?!
Sergeant: I need information. What are we fighting against?
Headquarters: Hostile forces.
Sergeant: What exactly does 'hostile forces' mean?
Headquarters: Huh!? Sergeant!! This is not good!
(The Mothership appears)
Soldier: What is that!!
Soldier: It is as large as the city!
Soldier: Is it a spaceship...?
Soldier: Could it be aliens?
(The 4th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Multi-armed battle drones!
Headquarters: Robots are coming.
Professor: It worked. I still have my memories.
Professor: ...It would've been easier on me if I'd lost them, though.
Professor: Thank you for being there for me. Now I can know for sure that this isn't all a delusion. I would've thought that I was going crazy if I was the only one.
(Annihilate all the enemies)
(The 5th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Flying saucers! Flying saucers are coming out!
Soldier: It is not a terrorist attack--it's an alien invasion!

What on earth is that!?

Mission Start
Sgt's Subordinate A: What the hell is that!?
Sgt's Subordinate B: There aren't any safe places anymore. Not on Earth at least.
Soldier: Is it a new weapon made by another country?
(The 1st wave of enemies appears)
Sgt's Subordinate B: Hey, look! What are those?
Sgt's Subordinate C: It flies, but it's neither a plane nor a helicopter.
Sgt's Subordinate A: Are they enemies?
Sgt's Subordinate B: They're attacking us!
Sergeant: Fire! Shoot them down!
Headquarters: This is headquarters. That flying object is dangerous. You are cleared to fire.
Soldier: Look! The flying saucers were shot down!
Soldier: Our weapons work!
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: There are drones appearing!
Soldier: There are too many!
Major: The weapon appears to be an autonomous combat drone. It is likely programmed to hunt down...humans.
Headquarters: Unmanned killing weapons, huh?
Major: We have already detected other types of drones. The enemy appears to be developing multiple different kinds.
Headquarters: If we let them run rampage, it will result in unimaginable casualties. We must shoot them all down.
Sergeant: Goddamn terrorists. I promise I will make you pay.
Sgt's Subordinate C: There should be laws against the use of battle drones.
Sgt's Subordinate A: Which freaking country sent those things?
Sgt's Subordinate B: Face the reality. It's an alien invasion.
Sgt's Subordinate A: It's no time for jokes.
(The 2nd wave of allies appears)
Soldier: This is Hummer. We're in position.
Headquarters: Very well. The anti-material rifles should be able to shoot down those drones.
Headquarters: Engage the enemy.
Soldier: Roger!
(The 3rd wave of allies appears)
Soldier(W): This is Wing Diver. We have arrived on the scene.
Soldier(W): All members are equipped with equipment D.
Headquarters: Very well. Attack the flying saucers.
Headquarters: Don't spare any drones, or they will attack civilians. Destroy them all!
Soldier: The antimatter rifles aren't working! That armor is crazy!
Soldier: Keep firing on them! We'll take them down no matter what!
Commercial Broadcast Announcer: So far, no substantial information about the flying objects could be obtained. Governments of all countries are still denying any sort of involvement. However, there are only a limited number of forces that can perform such a large-scale attack. In order to find out the truth, the suspected parties should be closely monitored; investigations ought to be pursued and appropriate enforcement actions taken. But currently all measures are being hindered by the current situation.
Professor: I wonder how many times I've heard this news report by now.
(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: There are drones coming out!
Soldier: T-There are too many of them!
Headquarters: The drones are attacking people indiscriminately. Civilians are in danger. Shoot down the drones whenever possible.
Sergeant: Ordinary terrorists can't possibly create such weapons. The enemy seems to be a powerful country.
(The Mothership activates giant cannon)
Soldier: The gigantic mothership is moving! Looks like it's activating some kind of device!
Soldier: We'd better evacuate.
Major: Please prioritize intelligence collection.
Soldier: Did you hear that? She says casualties are not important.
Sgt's Subordinate A: What the hell is that device?
Sgt's Subordinate C: Look! It's a cannon, isn't it?
Sgt's Subordinate B: Wait a minute. I don't like the look of it.
Soldier: They are preparing to attack!
Soldier: Wait, wait, wait!
Soldier: Retreat!
Soldier: Fall back! Fall back!
Soldier: Wahhhhh!!!
Soldier: No doubt, those things are aliens!
Soldier: This is not just a world war--it is a space war!
(If the Player destroys the giant cannon)
Sgt's Subordinate B: We really destroyed the cannons!
Soldier: That has to be a civilian.
Soldier: Guess there are some pretty amazing civilians out there.
Soldier: I've never seen anyone like that!
(If the Player destroys the giant cannon, the Mothership retreats and the 4th wave of enemies does not appear)
(If the Player does not destroy the giant cannon)
Sergeant: Please reply.
Headquarters: This is Strategic Command Headquarters.
Sergeant: What do you mean by 'hostile forces'? Please tell me which force specifically.
(The 4th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: They're back!
Soldier: What is the Air Force doing?
Soldier: There are just way too many!
Soldier: At this rate, we will all die!
Sergeant: The drones will hunt us down sooner or later. If we want to live, we must fight back!
(The 4th wave of allies appears)
Headquarters: Powered Exoskeletons, initiate combat.
Nix Crew: Arms 1, initiate combat.
Nix Crew: Show them the power of Powered Exoskeletons!
Soldier: Yeah. When can I wake up from this nightmare? I will wake up in my bed, right?
Professor: I've memorized the sports almanac. I could earn a fortune...but I know it'll be pointless.
Soldier: The gigantic ship is ascending.
Headquarters: Leave the gigantic ship to the Air Force. Ground troops, shoot down the drones.
Major: A great number of drones were dispatched from the gigantic ship. There are thousands of them.
(Destroy some enemies)
Major: The drones split into teams of hundreds. Citizens are in great danger now.
Sergeant: Crap! I don't know who they are, but are they really going to start a war?
Headquarters: Sergeant, take the civilians to a safe place.

Sgt's Subordinate A: It doesn't seem safe here.
Sgt's Subordinate B: It's not just unsafe. This is worse than before.
Sgt's Subordinate C: This definitely doesn't look good.
Sergeant: The civilians are in greater danger than we are.
Leader: Sergeant, please give us a hand, destroy the monsters.
Sergeant: Roger. Let's go!
Sgt's Subordinate C: We haven't seen those before!
Soldier: This monster can shoot out threads!
Soldier: Beware of the thread! Once you get tangled, you can't move!
Soldier: These monsters are tough!
Soldier: I don't think we can get it done!
(Eliminate the enemies in front)
Sergeant: You are already a good soldier. Just sign up and join us. The EDF could use someone like you.
Sgt's Subordinate B: We welcome you with open arms!
Sgt's Subordinate A: Being a soldier is awesome!
Sgt's Subordinate C: This is the best job ever... as long as there are no monsters.
Soldier: You don't move like any civilian I know.
Soldier: This is Ranger 3. We are fighting thread-shooting monsters. Two of us got injured.
Soldier: The monsters are too strong! Let's back off!
Soldier: If you don't get tangled, there's nothing to fear. What!?
Major: This is the Strategic Intelligence Division. The black monsters we encountered before will be called 'α' from now on. The ones that shoot threads will be called 'β'.
Major: Although the species β monsters are slow, they can unleash threads with acid, so they are very dangerous.
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Everyone, look! It's a large flying saucer!
Soldier: They are dropping monsters!
Sergeant: Damn! Defeat all monsters!
Headquarters: It's too difficult to destroy the large flying saucer. But at least you should wipe out the monsters.
Leader: Take down the monsters! Advance!
Sgt's Subordinate B: There are monsters dead ahead of us. Just my luck.
Sgt's Subordinate A: No, you are wrong. Monsters are everywhere in the world, not just here.
(In the HARDEST and above difficulty level, the nth wave of enemies appears)
Sgt's Subordinate C: Monsters!
Sergeant: They are emerging from underground!
Sgt's Subordinate A: Oh no! We are surrounded!
Leader: Keep shooting! Take down the monsters!
Sgt's Subordinate C: Did they try to ambush us?
(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Major: Large flying saucers are appearing everywhere. They keep dropping monsters.
Headquarters: We know. The monsters are everywhere.
Chief Commander: Attention, everyone. This is the Chief Commander. We were ambushed by the enemy and suffered great loss. The ravages of war have spread all over the world, and are even getting more serious. It is unfortunate that we were heavily stricken by the enemy at our first battle, but we are not lost yet. The most urgent matter at hand, is that our people are still in danger. We must pull ourselves together, and start our counterattack. The EDF shall rise again. And the time is now.
Professor: I was moved the first time I heard it, but it just gets embarrassing after this many times.
(Destroy the Teleportation Ship)
Sergeant: What?!
Sgt's Subordinate B: Hey! You're joking, right?
Sgt's Subordinate A: The saucer's falling!
Sergeant: Was it shot down?
Soldier: Someone shot down a saucer!
Sgt's Subordinate C: Beginner's luck? But even if it was...
Headquarters: No one's ever shot down a saucer before. Was it a fluke? Either way, it's a big win for us.
(Annihilate all the enemies)
Sergeant: Civilian, this time I will definitely take you to a safe place.
Sgt's Subordinate B: If there is really such a place.

Large flying saucers have invaded the city and are dropping monsters.
Damn it! Doing as they wish!
Ignore the flying saucers for now. Our priority is to exterminate the monsters so that we can save the citizens. Remember that!
Note: The direction in which Professor's communication intervenes is also in the Japanese version.

Mission Start
Soldier: The large flying saucers are dropping monsters!
Soldier: They can shoot threads!
Soldier: Try to take out the monsters and protect the citizens!
Sgt's Subordinate C: There are flying saucers everywhere.
Sgt's Subordinate B: Have all the enemies gathered here?
Sgt's Subordinate A: Looks like the situation is the same everywhere.
Sgt's Subordinate C: How big is the alien army?
Sgt's Subordinate B: We don't have any chance.
Sgt's Subordinate A: Why are aliens doing this to us?
Sgt's Subordinate C: What exactly do they want?
(The 2nd wave of allies appears)
Major: The large flying saucers that deploy monsters will be called 'teleportation ships' from now on.
Major: Teleportation Ships are armored with what are basically barriers. We cannot get a single attack in.
Headquarters: Did you figure out how to shoot them down?
Major: We're currently analyzing the data.
Sgt's Subordinate C: They shot a saucer down. That means...
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Large flying saucers!
Sgt's Subordinate A: There are too many of them. If they all start deploying monsters, we won't be able to kill them all!
Sgt's Subordinate C: So there's no way to take down those large flying saucers?
Sgt's Subordinate B: What the hell is the air force doing?
Sgt's Subordinate C: Monsters! Goddamn aliens!
Sgt's Subordinate A: What are the aliens trying to do to us?
Sgt's Subordinate B: Kill us all! That's for sure!
Headquarters: Be quick about it. If we don't break this stalemate, they'll wear us down until we can't fight back.
Major: The air force is preparaing a new type of aircraft now.
Headquarters: A new type? Does that mean there's a way to destroy the teleportation ships?
Major: Perhaps. But it will take some time.
Headquarters: How long will it take?
Major: About two months.
Headquarters: So that means it'll be to our disadvantage for the next 2 months.
Major: All we can do now is defeat the monsters and prevent more damage.
Civilian: The monsters are outside! Do something!
(Destroy the Teleportation Ship)
Sgt's Subordinate A: What the...?!
Sgt's Subordinate B: They did it! They downed a saucer!
Sgt's Subordinate C: Awesome!
Sergeant: Do they know the saucer's weakness?!
(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: They are dropping monsters again!
Soldier: There's no end to this. If we don't come up with someting fast, it'll become a monster carnival!
(If the Player does not destroy the Teleportation Ship)
Soldier(F): It's impossible to kill them all!
Soldier(F): The city! Everyone's gonna die!
Soldier: I don't think we can hold them off long enough for the air force to destroy the flying saucers...
Soldier: Is the whole world like this now?
Soldier: The end of the world is coming. Can't believe it is really happening.
Soldier: Pull it together. We will be okay after we defeat the monsters.
Professor: I contacted her and said to run. She should be safe.
(Destroy the Teleportation Ship)
Sgt's Subordinate C: Someone shot a saucer down?!
Sgt's Subordinate B: That civilian did it again!
(Destroy the Teleportation Ship)
Soldier: A civilian shot down a saucer!
Sgt's Subordinate A: That's no fluke. Who is this hero?
Headquarters: Does that civilian know how to take down a saucer? If they do, they could change the course of the war.
Sgt's Subordinate C: We need them to join our forces! We could even offer them a special position.
Sgt's Subordinate A: I second that! That civilian is a top-class warrior.
Sgt's Subordinate B: I found a safe place! Behind them!
(The 4th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Incoming large flying saucers!
(If the Player does not destroy the Teleportation Ship)
Sgt's Subordinate B: It's the end of the world.
Sgt's Subordinate A: At this rate, mankind will soon be extinct.
Headquarters: There are far more monsters than we can handle. At this rate, it's only a matter of time till our society collapses.
Civilian: Someone just saw monsters! Where should we evacuate?
Civilian: Monsters are coming!! Save us!
(If the Player destroys the Teleportation Ship)
Major: We now know how to shoot down large saucers. This will change the course of the war, and it's all thanks to that civilian.
Major: Evolved alien ships detected over the ocean. A large group of them.
Headquarters: So they've got reinforcements. I wonder how big their force really is.
National Broadcast Announcer: This is a war situation report. Looking at the big picture, we have the upper hand. Although aliens keep dropping monsters, the EDF has exterminated more than half of them, suppressing the threat from enemy successfully. Furthermore, the EDF has announced the development of a new weapon which will be able to turn the tides of war. The new weapon will be completed in 2 months, and will be deployed in all areas in 4 months. It will be able to destroy large flying saucers, so it will give us a chance to defeat the alien armada.
(Destroy the Teleportation Ship)
Soldier: Look! Somebody downed a saucer!
Major: That civilian is to be enlisted. That's an order.
(Destroy the Teleportation Ship)
Soldier: They shot down a saucer!
(Annihilate all the enemies)
(If the Player does not destroy the Teleportation Ship)
Sergeant: Civilian, you are stronger and braver than anyone else. You know what to do, right?
Sergeant: When the whole world turns in to a battlefield, all we can do is fight.
(If the Player destroys the Teleportation Ship)
Sergeant: You did something no one else could, you know that? You're a celebrity at this point.
Sergeant: Enlist. That's the safest option.
Major: From now on, you will be part of the EDF. We won't take no for an answer.

Mission Text
A new type of enemy spacecraft has appeared above the city. Ground units, prepare for Androids to be dropped. Two infantry teams, Delta and Charlie, are already on the move. If there's an emergency, rendezvous with the other teams and adapt to the situation.
Mission Start
Soldier: That's a huge fleet.
Leader: The enemy ships are trying to infest the town with monsters! Well, it's not gonna happen!
Leader: Time to do some extermination!
Soldier: Is this the 2nd troop of the Earth invasion forces?
Headquarters: Hostiles are raining down. Proceed with caution. Foot soldiers, don't stray too far from the tanks.
Soldier: Enemy ship on the way!
Soldier: They just don't stop coming.
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Enemy ship flying in!
Soldier: They activated their teleporter!
Soldier: What is up with these guys?!
Soldier: Hey, something bad's going down!
Maj's Subordinate: Red Androids!
Maj's Subordinate: Relocate immediately!
Headquarters: Those Androids are bad news. Fall back.
Headquarters: Team Delta is to the left. Link up with them.
Leader: Come on, this way!
Blacker Crew: Forget the tanks. Go!
Leader: Group up with Delta! Keep moving!
Soldier: They're tailing us!
(The 2nd wave of allies appears)
Leader: We don't have the numbers for this! Keep them at bay but stay on the move!
Headquarters: Avoid fighting in small numbers. Regroup first, and then fight back.
Soldier: They're making a beeline for us!
Soldier: Our attacks aren't doing jack!
Soldier: Their shells are incredible! Our bullets are just bouncing off!
Soldier: These guys aren't just harder now! They're better in every way--faster and stronger!
Soldier: Not to mention, they get mad!
Leader: Don't stop to try and fight them properly. It's too risky! Delta's right there!
(If the 2nd wave of enemies is eliminated before the Player arrives at the Delta position)
Headquarters: Chop-chop. Group up with Delta.
(Approach the Delta position)
Leader: This way! Get a move on!
(Enter the Delta position)
Leader: They won't go down easy! Shoot them until there's nothing left to shoot!
(Join the Delta's Ranger team)
Leader: What a terrifying enemy. But we're going to survive, just you wait.
(Eliminate the enemies)
Leader: Charlie is straight ahead. Let's help them out.
(The 3rd wave of enemies and the 3rd wave of allies appear)
Soldier: Enemy ships!
Soldier: The enemy ship is producing Androids!
Soldier: Red Androids closing in!
Headquarters: Divided you're gonna get picked off one by one. Group up, then fend them off together with Charlie.
Leader: Charlie's just ahead. It's not safe but I'm heading over.
Leader: Dead ahead! Let's go!
Leader: On the move! Linking up with Charlie!
Blacker Crew: We'll bring up the rear.
Headquarters: Rendezvous with Charlie.
Soldier: These guys are tough as nails!
Soldier: Not much we can do by ourselves!
Leader: We're in over our heads! Grouping up with Charlie!
Major: This is a model with high specs whose capabilities have all been enhanced. They were likely specialized for combat with infantry in urban locales.
Headquarters: Take them on once you've grouped up. Fall back to Charlie's position.
(If the 3rd wave of enemies is eliminated before the Player arrives at the Charlie position)
Headquarters: Did you lose them? Good. Link up with Charlie.
(Approach the Charlie position)
Eirene Crew: The Powered Exoskeleton Eirene. It's raring to go.
Leader: This way! Get a move on!
(Enter the Charlie position)
Leader: Here's where we make our stand!
Leader: We make our defenses impenetrable and we make it out alive. Are we clear?
Leader: This one's called the Eirene. It's our latest and fully equipped for war.
(Join the Ranger team of 1st wave)
Leader: Grouping up with Charlie!
(Join the Charlie's Ranger team)
Leader: We're going home alive.
(The 4th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Enemy ship passing through!
Soldier: Androids coming in hot!
Headquarters: Enemies incoming.
Headquarters: Don't leave your Powered Exoskeleton. We need to hold the line and keep them away.
Leader: They're flanking! Keep your heads on a swivel!
Leader: Fire! Don't let those Red Androids get any closer!
Leader: They're no threat from a distance, so fire away!
Soldier: We can't shoot them dead! What's going on?
Leader: Keep shooting until they go down! That's all we can do!
Major: These shells are meant to resist our weapons... They are likely an improved model created specifically to face foot soldiers in urban landscapes.
Headquarters: They adapted to the situation too quickly. Had they planned everything out already? Or are they simply able to produce new weapons at a rate we can only imagine?
(Annihilate all the enemies)
Major: The enemy's new ship models are continuing to rain down Androids. Their numbers are dramatically exceeding our projections.
Headquarters: Their Androids are being constantly upgraded. If things go on like this...

Mission Text
The enemy ship has dropped a new type of robot.
The robots have invaded the city and are indiscriminately attacking civilians. The town is in chaos. You have to hurry.
Mission Start
Sgt's Subordinate C: Those civilians are in danger!
Sergeant: Destroy the robots!
Civilian: They're going to burn us alive!
Civilian: It's hot! It's so hot!
Civilian: The soldiers are here!
Civilian: We're saved!
Sgt's Subordinate B: They're equipped with flamethrowers!
Sgt's Subordinate A: They've been modified to attack humans specifically!
Sgt's Subordinate C: These robots practically skim the ground when they fly!
Sgt's Subordinate A: Their thin frames allow them to fit into tight spaces so they can hunt down and kill people!
Sergeant: It's even more efficient at killing people than the drones! What a horrific weapon!
Sgt's Subordinate B: This is how they optimize for efficiency?! They just can't wait to kill us!
Sgt's Subordinate C: Clearly, they're not the type to stop and smell the roses! What ssquare!
Sgt's Subordinate B: Bullets have no effect?!
Sergeant: They have special armor.
Sgt's Subordinate A: That's not all! It's built with slanted surfaces that deflect bullets.
Major: The round armor completely covers the robot. It has no weak points like tires or sensors, and even its weaponry is defended.
Major: The smooth, rounded armor around this weapon is perfect for deflecting gunfire. Put simply, we believe it was developed to combat infantry.
Maj's Subordinate: In order to attack, the armor must open up for a moment. It's risky, but we can destroy it by shooting inside this opening.
Sergeant: When it attacks, the armor opens up. We can take them down by shooting them there.
Sgt's Subordinate B: You've done it this time!
Sgt's Subordinate A: The robot was destroyed that easily?!
Sergeant: Cover them!
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Leader(W): There are more robots than we estimated. We need reinforcements.
Headquarters: There's a team nearby. Hold out until they arrive.
Headquarters: Wing Divers are in combat. Provide backup.
Sergeant: Roger that.
(Join the Wing Diver team))
Leader(W): If we cooperate, we can take these robots down. We have to save those civilians.
(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Sgt's Subordinate B: The robots are beginning to gather.
Major: The Primer is dropping robots at the city center.
Headquarters: It's a machine for killing humans. It's even more of a threat than the drones.
Major: We will call these robots Excavators.
Major: The Excavator attack destroyed Land 7.
Headquarters: What?! That's an underground facility.
Major: It appears they have breached the inner area of Land 7. These Excavators were likely created to attack underground facilities and bunkers.
Headquarters: Unbelievable. They're taking out our safe zones one by one. They were clearly extremely well-prepared.
(The 4th wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: It's a large army of enemy robots.
Headquarters: If it's a fight they want, they got it. Here come the robots.
Leader(W): They're grouping up. They mean to wipe out any and all who oppose them.
Headquarters: The enemy's movements suggest that they may have predicted our attack...
Headquarters: The evolved enemy ships stopped over the ocean. What are they doing there?
Major: They seem to be releasing something, many of which have already gone into the ocean.
Headquarters: What do we do now...?
(Annihilate all the enemies)
Sgt's Subordinate A: A weapon specialized in one-on-one combat...
Sergeant: It's a horrific weapon, but you fight back with unpredictable tactics. You're a true soldier.

89 The Coast Cleanup Plan
Mission Text
A pack of monsters has been spotted by the coast. Head there to exterminate them.
Your unit will have three AFVs at its disposal. You should have enough firepower, but still...be careful out there.
Mission Start
Blacker Crew: Advance!
Leader: Let's kill these monsters.
Leader: Don't lose focus. If you get hit with that acid, it's bad news.
Major: A submarine has disappeared off this coast. There are also missing civilian vessels.
Headquarters: You're saying that's related to this monster?
Major: Not necessarily, but if you notice anything irregular, report back.
Soldier: There! Monsters!
Leader: We have a good view here. We can take out monsters before they get close.
Blacker Crew: Keep your cool! We proceed with caution!
(Battle begins)
Leader: Exterminate them.
Major: A message from Air Force. Sirens are incoming. They were crossing the ocean but have changed course.
Headquarters: What?
Maj's Subordinate: We are not prepared to intercept. I advise we let them pass and not attack.
Maj's Subordinate: It appears that something is chasing the Siren!
Headquarters: Chased? Were they not just traveling across the ocean?
Major: We do have reports of a battle in the area with marine life. It could be this marine life in pursuit.
Headquarters: You're saying there's monsters in the ocean? Is the thing the enemy ship dropped in the ocean a new creature?
Maj's Subordinate: Sirens flying in low. Do not attack.
(Siren appears)
Soldier: Look! There's something in the air!
Soldier: It's a Siren! The Sirens are here!
Headquarters: The Sirens are flying low. It's a great chance to hit them, but we're not prepared. Do nothing, and let them pass.
Leader: Let the Sirens pass!
Maj's Subordinate: Motion detected. In the ocean.
Headquarters: A monster?
Maj's Subordinate: Unclear. Please stay alert.
(The 2nd wave of enemies appears)
Leader: A fog's forming.
Soldier: The fog is getting thick.
Soldier: We can't see ahead. We can't fight like this.
Headquarters: Something's coming from the ocean. Back away from the coast.
Soldier: Something moved!
Soldier: The water! There's something in the water!
Soldier: It's huge! Is it a whale?
Soldier: It's walking! I don't think that's a whale!
Soldier: What the hell is that?
Headquarters: Hurry up, One Six.
Leader: One Six here. Headed there now. The water's not too cold, is it?
Soldier: There's something in the water!
Soldier: It's a Dark Monster! A Dark Monster from the ocean!
Soldier: You've gotta be joking. A Dark Monster from the ocean?
Soldier: It's like some sort of humanoid fish!
Soldier: A merman! That's a merman!
Soldier: This is bad. We'll get dragged out to sea.
Soldier: Get back from the water!
Soldier: It's a merman! We're under attack from a merman!
Maj's Subordinate: Marine life is flooding out of the water onto the beach in the surrounding areas.
Headquarters: A giant sea creature has come ashore. Stay alert.
Headquarters: They're coming from the ocean. Get away from the water and crush each and every sea creature that comes ashore.
Headquarters: Don't worry. Your bullets will work.
Maj's Subordinate: I see no data indicating that bullets...
Headquarters: They'll work.
Soldier: Here they come!
Soldier: They're swimming!
Soldier: They're swimming onto the shore!
(The 3rd wave of enemies appears)
Soldier: Something came out of the ocean!
Soldier: Hey, something just moved! There's something in the ocean!
Soldier: It's a merman! They drag people into the ocean and drown them. Don't go near the water!
Soldier: It's just a big fish! Nothing to be scared of!
Soldier: Dark Monsters? There's only fish in the water. Take a look.
Soldier: Hey! Don't get close to the water!
Soldier: I'm the son of a fisherman. The ocean's... Ahhh!
Soldier: That's a merman?! Run! Flee to higher ground!
(The 2nd wave of allies appears)
Leader: One Six here. We've just arrived. What's the situation?
Soldier: How's anyone supposed to swim with all this fog? Can't see a thing.
Soldier: What's that?
Soldier: It's a merman! A merman is attacking!
Leader: Our comrades are already fighting it! Let's go give them a hand!
Soldier: Stop! If you hurt a merman, you'll suffer their curse!
Soldier: That's just a myth!
Headquarters: They must have been right behind the Sirens.
Major: We can assume they were chasing, or rather, were led by the Sirens here. Either way, it's possible that they work together in some fashion.
(Join the Ranger team)
Leader: An enemy from the deep sea. What a disaster.
(Annihilate all the enemies)
Headquarters: What is this creature?
Major: If it can move around on land as well...this is a major threat.
Headquarters: We can't fight it underwater, though. We need to face it on land.

Battles continue to be fought in coastal areas around the world, and the situation is ever-changing. While all areas within ten kilometers of the coastline have been ordered to evacuate, we expect this to be further extended to fifty kilometers. All those who live in such areas, prepare for evacuation at once.
