As an African I have experienced the suffering of our communities, my fellow Africans lost parents, siblings and other young & active members of their populations. The stereotype promoted was that HIV-AIDS was an African pandemic. Growing up in our village, death was an occasional natural experience for a senior citizen and we would go for months without hearing of another death. HIV -AIDS induced by foreign elements caused Havoc, every family grieved including mine as we lost several relatives, weekend funerals were notable celebrations of lost lives but that suddenly became mass burials of the young and old. Our grandmothers through lack of information lost their lives through the handling of AIDS victims. Africans are considered through these actions as less human. It is timely for the African to rise and chart their own destiny in unison of purpose, we are one divided by external exploitative forces. The enemy is our colonised ecosystem, colonised labels and mindset. Africa, let us unite and build our continent for the survival of our children and to give them a chance to stand tall as proud Africans that lead the world we live in. Stop fighting fellow Africans!

アフリカ人として、私は私たちのコミュニティの苦しみを経験してきた。私の仲間のアフリカ人は、両親、兄弟、そして他の若く活発なメンバーを失った。HIVエイズはアフリカの流行病だという固定観念が広まっていた。 私たちの村では、高齢者の死はごく自然なことであり、何カ月経っても新たな死を聞くことはなかった。外的要因によって誘発されたHIV-AIDSは大混乱を引き起こし、親戚を何人も失い、私の家族も含めてどの家族も悲嘆に暮れた。週末の葬儀は失われた命を祝うものだったが、それが突然、老若男女の集団埋葬となった。私たちの祖母たちは情報不足のため、エイズの犠牲者を処理することで命を落とした。アフリカ人はこのような行動によって、人間以下とみなされる。アフリカ人が立ち上がり、一致団結して自らの運命を切り開くことは時宜を得たことである。敵は植民地化された生態系であり、植民地化されたレッテルであり、考え方である。アフリカよ、私たちは団結し、子供たちの生存のために、そして私たちの住む世界をリードする誇り高きアフリカ人として堂々と立つチャンスを与えるために、私たちの大陸を築き上げよう。アフリカ人同士で争うのはやめよう！
