普通にクリアしていけば解除できるものがほとんどだが、「Challengium」と「Bolevium」がかなり難しい。
過去作品がPSP「【Hg】ハイドリウム（Archer Maclean's Mercury）」「タマラン（Mercury Meltdown）」とWii「たまらん（Mercury Meltdown Revolution）」にて発売されているが、それらと比べてマーキュリーのスピードがかなり速く割れやすくなっている。

チャレンジはディスカバリモードのステージを3～4つ条件付き（時間・取得ボーナス・残量）で通してプレイを数セットするものだが、最終的にはすべてのノルマを一度で達成しなければならず、失敗すれば最初からやり直し。

「Awesomium」は各ステージに設けられた4つのノルマをディスカバリーモードの全ステージでこなす必要がある。
水銀の残量や時間のノルマはシビアなものが多いが、累計なので一度達成すればOK。
生存重視・速度重視などに分けてプレイすれば難しくはない。
DLCのステージで取った分も加算されていくが数には入らず、実績の説明通り本編のみで240個取る。

「2つのDLC」はボーナスステージが解除できるステージでのみアイテムを全て取得するよう気をつけ、他の通常ステージはゴールに到達するだけで解除できる

「Musicium」はカスタムサントラ（音楽CDを取り込むかPC連携）が必要
